Not great, the food had very little flavor. We got the street tacos and Fabrito. The only saving grace was the cheese dip which was pretty good. Chips and salsa were not included with the meal and the salsa had very little to no flavor. My water was empty for half of the meal and never got filled. Overall, super disappointing.

Three of us stopped in here for lunch during a weekday. We were underwhelmed with the terrible service, overwhelmed by the menus, and we ended up leaving without ordering anything at all.
El Pico is not where I would turn for “Mexican” food. Let me start with the menus. This must be like some kind of joke or nod to the menu at the diner in Schitt’s Creek. Because there are menus and more menus and tabletop menus!

What a great experience my friend and I had at this establishment. I wasn’t expecting much as we just went in for a quick bite on a taco Tuesday night. We ended up having a delayful conversation with the female manager on site. They also had some of the best salsa that I got for encounter. My friend agreed. The tacos were fresh and delicious and the pricing was just right!
And oh! Amazing Margarita!!

So a couple of weeks ago, I got the chance to eat at this restaurant in the square of Independence, across from the courthouse.
El Pico Mexican Restaurant.
I was waiting for my appointment and had a serious craving for something REAL.
Xavier greeted me, and I sat down.
It took some time for me to figure out what I wanted to eat because everything they offered sounded so good!!
In the meantime, chips and salsa were served, and BoyOBoy was that salsa delicious!!
I decided on a steak Chimichanga, and Xavier had my dish made exactly how I wanted it!
It was so delicious and so filling. I didn’t even finish the whole thing ❤️
I ordered a churro cake for dessert, took pictures, and boxed it up to go. It was so delicious, soft, and jam-packed full of spice.
I left here soooo stuff and so pleasantly surprised that in the heart of Independence, I got a firm taste on culture and it was delicious!!
If you’re ever in the area, or even if you’re not… spend some time and go check them out!!
They have amazing specials each day, literally something for everyone!

This is my favorite locally owned Mexican spot and it’s on the historic Independence square! Service was excellent and the food was fresh and tasty! My chicken fajitas came to the table sizzzzzling! The margaritas were a perfect complement to the meal.

The service was 10/5. I had to give this place the full 5 stars…wish I could give more. We left our car key behind and the server chased us down (she sprinted) two blocks to return it to us. I am very grateful.

It was alright. Taco was $4.99 for a regular beef crunchy taco. A bean tostada is $6.99. Portions were normal size portions noting extraordinary for those prices. That’s expensive. Plus you have to pay for chips and salsa for $3.99. It’s definitely a at least try once kind of place.
