I’m going to be honest, I didn’t think this place was going to be very good. We frequent Los Bravos and we couldn’t really find any Mexican restaurants that held up to their standards. After a couple months of my husband saying he wanted to try El Patron, I finally caved (I’m more of a sushi kind of person and I always get nervous trying new places, so it took some convincing). Boy howdy am I glad we stopped here for dinner yesterday. He ordered the Quesadilla Popeye with added chicken and I ordered the Fiesta Seafood. The waiter (I think may have been the manager actually, the person refilling drinks was different), brought out our food after about 15 or 20 minutes, which is a perfectly reasonable amount of time. The portions were huge. I got two big filets of tilapia with 6 big shrimp and he got a huge quesadilla. The flavours were great and I enjoyed the salad and rice. We also ordered the flan for dessert. I honestly have never found a flan I really enjoy, but this one was amazing! I’m knocking off one star only because I feel like we could have gotten a little more rice with our orders, it seems like there was only enough to have about 6 bites and we both really love rice. The seats are also a little torn up so if those were fixed and they added a little more rice to each order, I’d be giving this place 5 stars. I really do recommend El Patron. Not only was the food great, but the service was wonderful as well. The staff was attentive and kind and we definitely will be back.

We had dinner for my birthday with my family and a coworker on a Thursday night. We got seated promptly and had good service. The server kept our drinks full and our chip basket and salsa bowls full! Everything came out correct and piping out. I tried something new to me the pineapple Fiesta. Everything was very good!

We went on a Tuesday and every Tuesday they have Taco Tuesday and taco are ONLY 99 CENTS! Less than a dollar for a taco! And it’s absolutely delicious! We did not expect such amazing flavors! The restaurant was clean, service was fast attentive and friendly and the prices were amazing! The margarita was only $2.50 for the lime. We will be back probably every Tuesday!

Love El Patron. My favorite Mexican spot in Evansville hands down. The salsa is top notch and if you are into extra spicy be sure to ask for the fresh hot salsa from the back. It is very flavorful and will definitely give you the heat you are looking for. Stopped in for the Tuesday $1 lunch taco deal today. 2 soft shell chicken and 2 hard shell beef. Both were very good and loaded with meat and all the fixings. Service is always top notch and have never had a bad experience. Be sure to give them a visit.

Good food, comes out quickly and isn’t expensive. They have a lunch time menu where you get a drink included in the price which is 7.00 dollars. They do have music playing in the background they also had some sort of wrestling on, on a tv. Great service always seeing if we needed something etc.

Service was polite. Food was just OK. The fresh guacamole was just avacado paste with nothing else in it. I’m just used to seeing onions tomatoes ect in my guacamole.
My wife’s burrito was huge and tasted fine.
