I enjoy the 3 taco plate. My husband tried their special burrito and tried to eat it all in one sitting. It was huge! And tasty.
One minor thing, the delicious salsa they bring to the table is not on the salsa bar. But my husband loved the spicy choices there 🙂

We decided to go to El Patron due to they having a great Google rating and a large number of survey responses. El Patron did not disappoint! I do not share any restaurant experiences unless we are totally happy with everything. We had some great margaritas, and I fully enjoyed the California burrito. Their chips and salsa and salsa bar were fantastic. Plus, we enjoyed a five member mariachi band that played Elvis Presley’s, It’s Now or Never. I highly recommend that you visit El Patron when in the area.

My favorite Mexican restaurant ever! The menu is big and they did an amazing job with the atmosphere. Super authentic. The jumbo margaritas are bomb and they go heavy on the tequila The octopus margarita has been the best so far. We have been here twice and the food has been great. Big portions for a great price. Can’t wait to go back.

We visited el Patron Restaurant our first day in Sylva, NC. I am Mexican (born & raised) and I can say that this place is amazing. The food is very authentic and very delicious. The tamales are very good and taste just like how my mom makes them. My gringo fiancé loved it as well! Will definitely come back again!

Me and my wife just recently tried el patron for the first time since we moved to Sylva and we haven’t gotten the chance to eat in yet but we got takeout she ordered Tameles and a chicken quesadilla and I ordered tamales and rice and the food WAS AMAZING. I’m use to Hispanic restaurants that smile and greet you. This place didn’t give that to our family who came to visit. The lady when we came in with the curls and blonde hair walked so fast to the table she didn’t even wait to see if we were behind her. She didn’t say hey, welcome in. She just asked how many and walked straight all the way to the very back. Our waitress was a lady with a short hair cut and she didn’t smile, she didn’t ask how we were, first thing she said was what can I get you to drink, after that all she asked was what do you want to eat, and do you need any boxes. Very dry! My ordered ended up being wrong, which was no issue I was okay BUT the biggest issue is my mom, my two boys and myself have had diarrhea since we left. I mean terrible, to the point I am going to call the health department and notify the place we all are sick. My son went to sleep at 6pm because he threw up and had diarrhea. It’s 11pm now as I type this and I am still so sick. Mind you we came around 1pm on 12/20/25. I will NEVER eat here again. I don’t usually leave reviews but please be careful if you plan to travel out of town for the holidays and end up sick like we are. We leave tomorrow and had to sit in the room the rest of the day. Yes, it’s that bad!! 🙁
