Went for my birthday and the staff were very friendly, nice, and upbeat! The food was incredible! Great portions, very well seasoned, fast, and delicious. I was shocked when I saw the price. I went with a group of 4 and we all got entire meals, soft drinks, and queso and it still was only about $20 a person! All of us left full and with leftovers.

We just moved to the area and immediately wanted to find our New Mexican go to. And let’s just say we didn’t have to search hard. We loved all the food we got. Pork tacos, steak tacos, tamales and tostadas. I even especially loved their rice and beans. If you haven’t eaten here yet, I suggest changing that.

We typically leave our hometown to come to El patron in Coal City because their food really is head and shoulders above most. Not fancy, a great menu selection, good quality and good portions. Margaritas are terrific and they have a good bar selection too. The restaurant was very clean, bright, and well attended.

Service is friendly and attentive and even when they are busy, the food doesn’t take more than 20mins. Chips & salsa and large keep kids entertained.
Specials change daily. My favorite is the mango margarita.
The steak and chicken dishes are outstanding. I love the El Patron CheeseSteak, covered in white queso sauce! A must try. Steak or chicken fajitas also excellent. Not one thing to say about this place, it is on point and affordable.

The food is excellent. It is all worth the price. You will end up taking some home!! The pic of the strawberry Margherita is a medium by the way! Our server was on point with everything. We will be back again!!

DO NOT EAT HERE, only alcoholic drinks. I been sick for days!
I had the salsa and chips and simple shredded chicken nachos. The chicken tasted like tuna out a can and smelled like canned chicken. It had no seasoning. I took few bites then got to chicken gagged I tried to eat the chips with the cheese and legit I could not. My friends food was sea food shrimp so you really can eat that raw.
I have had stomach issues ever since will be goin to quick care of it don’t stop. Do not eat here they are not good at any of they meals
The waiter kept rushing me to order.
Right when he dropped off menus he askin for the order. Then gave us tops 3 min when we asked for more time.
They mango margaritas was orange margaritas no mango in it At all tasted like straight up orange juice with chamoy some mango flavoring possibly but all the other stuff over powered it.
Too much time for yall to be cookin that bad in coal city Illinois

I spent a lot of time waiting for my waitress most of the time. The manger asked others how there food was and walked right past our table. Not a great feeling. Service is poor with certain patrons it seems.

Food is just terrible anymore. Used to be our favorite spot but food has become extremely bland no flavor no seasoning. Not sure what happened but the past three times we’ve been there it’s been terrible.
