My wife and I ate dinner here after a walk at a very nice park nearby.
We both enjoyed the chips and salsa, and that is often the indicator of how much we’ll enjoy the overall meal.
She ordered the Pollo DeSoto which was a chicken and chorizo dish, and it was delicious. She couldn’t eat it all, and I ate the rest for lunch the next day.
I ordered a chimichanga and the menu offered ground beef, chicken, or pork for the filling. I asked for Al pastor, which is pork, and I saw on another menu item. When we received the bill, I had been up charged for the Al pastor. The menu didn’t say anything about it costing more. The waitress didn’t tell me that it would cost more. Plus – it’s pork, which is one of the three meat options offered for the chimichanga. It was only an extra $1.75, but not only was I not told about it, according to the menu it would seem to be no additional charge. I didn’t say anything, because it was a small amount, but I was definitely not expecting to be charged more.
The waitress was nice, but a bit slow in refilling our chips and salsa.
We enjoyed the food, but it’s a bit out of the way for us and we probably won’t come back.

Our family have been driving from Lenexa to go to this Mexican restaurant for about 8 years now. The Fajitas are the best. The margaritas are on point and mixed well. All the food is good and the service is always friendly, fast, and efficient.

Party of 3, ordered combo plate with Enchilada, burrito and fried taco x2 and fajitas combo. The chips and salsa and 12.75 margarita was good, when we finally got them to our table! The burrito and Enchilada were almost exactly the same taste with hamburger inside and same chili sauce on top. Very little cheese! The fried taco was inedible. Old grease was dripping off the shell. Hubby’s fajitas were good. We asked for a refill on the diet coke and never got it for either 1! I won’t go back!

The staff was friendly and professional, the food was great, and the menu wasn’t expensive. My family had a great lunch experience at El Patron.
Update: the food is still very good! However, the service wasn’t what it used to be. I could tell that there were good servers there, but ours simply wasn’t one of them. For example, the server didn’t seem very familiar with the menu (had to open it and point to the seafood enchiladas), one of the plates had to sent back because it had multiple toppings which were requested to be 86’d, the sides weren’t correct on multiple plates, and some other minor details. All-in-all, I will be going back, it was still a good experience, I just hope that next time the service is just a little better.

Their chicken fajitas are AMAZING!! Great little place in de Soto. Cost just varies but usually between $10-20 a person.

Service could be better. We had to wait for quite a while for anyone to walk by to request a refill and then actually flagged a bus person to assist.
Ordered a sangria swirl margarita and was brought a regular sangria. I asked about the swirl margarita part and was advised that’s called a tropical sangria… Implying I should keep my sangria that was delivered. It was a decent sangria but definitely could have used more bourbon. No heat on the backside.
Would have preferred the drink I ordered though
All in all I’d return.

Always great, I feel like I can’t give it 5 stars because every time I order the same thing it is different and we have had to send things back to be fixed. They always fix it tho but that is a little bit of a problem. Atmosphere is always fun!

They so much in a rush. Don’t listen when customers are ordering. Had to repeat my self multiple times just for them to still get my order wrong!! Ordered chicken… clearly got beef…… slow down and do your job right!!!! And when I called to tell them they got my order wrong she blamed it on the cooks, but it clearly says on my receipt she rang in beef. So unprofessional to lie about your own mistakes. I definitely would have been understanding, but can’t when people lie to make their self look better about the situation.

Food was very good the cheese dip was fantastic and service was great. They were really fast to make our food and the chips were fresh and hot. Overall this restaurant is a great place to eat!
