Had street tacos Al Pastor and fish tacos. Both were very good. Get the corn soft shells. The rice was excellent Chips and salsa were ok. The generic margaritas were a tad sweet. Next time I would have them make it from scratch or get a floater on top.

Amazing service! Delicious food. Only
complaint is it is not very wheelchair friendly. Ample parking in the back but the entrance is super tough to navigate the 2 doors (especially the swinging doors), also the bathrooms could not be used with a wheelchair so I had to fake my son out to the van to be changed. Still will return because the food was amazing! They even accommodated for my gluten and dairy allergies!

Stopped in on a Saturday night with the family(7 of us including some children). Was so impressed with this place, from the moment we walked in and to the last few bites of dessert. Not only might this restraunt be the best looking in Gaylord, but the best tasting as well (and we’ve eaten all over Gaylord). The Mexican flavor was amazing(a rarity of up north Michigan), even better than what I can find down state. Highly recommend eating here! Nachos were perfect, tacos on point, salsa to die for, fabulous fajitas, beautiful molcajete, lovely drinks, heavenly warm churros, even the rice and pico was brilliant!! Will be back!… Special shout out to out waiter Jesus. You rock!

What a hidden gem in a small town! The chips and salsa were amazing, and my Carne Asada tacos were tasty and had little fat. Rice was also quite nice along with the beans! Al Pastor tacos were amazing too! I highly recommend this place!

Amazing place! Our order was delivered super fast and hot. I had server Chance and he was super kind. Checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was top notched. We had the Chury special with extra sauce and it was delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and the rice was cook just right. I am beyond happy with our experience and look forward to coming back!

Food was wonderful, memorable and we bought an extra burrito to go before leaving for lunch the next day. The food quality is definitely worth the detour!

Service was polite, professional and pleasant. However, it felt too fast. Food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering it, dessert was served while one of the member of the group hadn’t finished its main course yet. It felt like we were expected to be gone quickly and that customer shouldn’t stay more than 30 minutes.

Serving too fast could lead to the impression that food is not made for order and prepared ahead of time. If I choose a restaurant that is not fast food, I expect to be able to relax, take time and enjoy the experience, not rushed out. Restaurant was not full and there was not a line outside so I didn’t understand the rush.

However, staff was nice and welcoming and the food will be positively remembered for a long time! I do not regret going there and will for sure be back!

This is a pretty nice Mexican restaurant that is definitely funny to get into. When you park in the back, there’s a LONG twisting hallway you go through to get to the front.
The service is good, and the food isn’t too shabby! They actually make pretty good ribs, too! I’d recommend getting the Mexican dishes more, and you don’t need dessert, you’ll be more satisfied with your meal!

I lived in Tucson Arizona for over 30 years. I traveled into Mexico on a weekly basis. El Patron is pretty close to authentic Mexican food. I will note that their Carne Asada is not quite what it should be. I would recommend they invest in better carne asada flank steaks and charge more. It will make a big difference! I’m hoping the issue with their steak of choice is not a one time issue and I happen to get the worst of the cuts of beef! The grilled onions, beepers, shrimp, etc were great. Guac, tomatoes, lettuce were very fresh. The rice was cooked well. The refried beans seemed like it spent some time in a blender on purée! No bueno! They were definitely not authentic, more like cheap. Same issue again. Don’t buy cheap and sell high. There are many choices on the menu, so there should be something for everyone. I will probably come back, but I will be very picky about my steak and beans!
