Amazing customer service!!!! We ordered our food to be delivered through grub hub and grub hub ended up canceling our order after 2 hours of no driver picking it up. I called and spoke to el patrons manager Miguel and he was amazing! He was very understanding and helped me figure out a way for us to just come get our food and they even re made it for us so it was fresh even though they did not have to do that! Plus the food was AMAZING!! I highly recommend trying this restaurant, we will be going back for sure! Thank you to the awesome staff!!

Great food and great service. Our waitress was so sweet and did a great job. We ordered the El Patron dinner for 2 and were not disappointed!! My goodness was it good and packed with flavor. The 3 salsas that come with it are great as well. I was a big fan of the guacamole and mild. We will definitely be back.

From the moment we walked in the door we were treated as if we were super- special people. The menu is extensive and the food was fabulous! The artistic presentation on the plate was what you might expect at a very fancy restaurant. Obviously, great care and pride went into the preparation of the food. The host was amazingly friendly, the waitress was attentive and even the owner found time to check on us! We look forward to a return visit the next time we are anywhere near Waterloo! Highly recommended!

The food was amazing! So fresh and flavorful. The salsa was a bit to hot for us. Great flavor, but the after burn on the tongue was long lasting. Facility was clean, restrooms were clean and staff was super! If you are in downtown Waterloo, Iowa, stop in and give them a try.

I can’t speak for the dine in experience since I ordered delivery, but I’m not exactly satisfied with my experience. The food is delicious, don’t get me wrong, but our order was filled with errors. I asked for no tomatoes in my burrito and it was filled with tomato chunks. We ordered two sodas and they only gave us one. And the one they gave us was the wrong flavor. So if you’re looking for delicious food, you’ll get it, it just might not be what you ordered. Probably not the best choice for someone with food allergies.

Very delicious. I’m super picky about flavors. When the salsa arrived with warm chips, it was a good start. The salsa was terrific, just the right spice; so I ordered guacamole, which is always a test for good flavor. It too was terrific, so an appetizer was certainly to follow. The Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo, shrimp sautéed in garlic butter with mushrooms and onions were fabulous. The shrimp was fresh, cooked perfectly, and the flavor was delightful. The entree was the Patron Combo, steak, chicken, shrimp, sautéed with onions, peppers, and special sauce; it was deliciously special; wow!! Large portions and big enough to share. I’m grateful for the excellent flavors. We were there during a very busy surge. Front of the house service was definitely a little chaotic, and stressed; no real organization or flow, but you can tell this is a true Small Business, and they are working very hard. I’m a small business owner, I give them a break for the chaotic front of the house, because I can see how hard they trying. Casual atmosphere, clean bathrooms, and reasonably priced. El Patron Mexican Restaurant is really great Mexican food In Waterloo Iowa.

Everything on my plate was delicious. I ordered the El Patron Platter and my son ordered the Quesadilla plate. His plate looked scrumptious. The food was hot and flavorful and a nice portion size. The price was right and the service was nice. My server checked on me justice the right amount of times. I love Mexican food and it’s always nice to try it in different cities when I’m away from home. (The Great State of Texas) This was awesome and made me feel at home. If I ever come back out here I will definitely be eating here again.
