First time here and I had the taco salad which was pretty good but didn’t have much ground beef on it. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with curly fries and they were both very good very tasty pork. Very small section of Mexican food on the menu. Burgers and sandwiches and all day breakfast..portions are large

We stopped in for lunch and was served by Donna. Our food came out quick and was very tasty. Would highly recommend the burger and club sandwich. The fries are hand cut and really good. Portion size was big.

Was expecting a menu loaded with Mexican food but was surprised to see dishes of all sorts. Was funny when we all sat down we were confused. The food looked amazing and tasted great. The service wasn’t the best as the waitress didn’t take my order. She took 3 of the party of 4 and walked off as I started to say my order. I asked for extra ranch and never got it. I did notice only 2 people were handling the entire restaurant so maybe that’s why? All in all, we will be back next time we’re in the area.

Had dinner there last year and it was average. I kept hearing about how good their breakfast was and thought I would see what the fuss was about. It did not disappoint. Huevos Ranchero is the best that I’ve had in years. I will definitely be back for breakfast.

The Mexican menu is dynamite. From top to bottom. I have tried everything at least once.
The American fare is good as well. They make a mean burger! My only issue was the French fries tasting like corn chips.
They have a mariachi band play certain nights which is a really nice touch.
Place is mostly bench seating but there are chairs as well. Clean and serviceable. No issues there.
The children’s menu is spot on. If you have a picky child, no problems.
They will also make anything you want that they have to order.
The only problem I had was with a boy who said he was the owner’s son. He overcharged me 3 times. Each time without permission after the credit card slip was charged and he had been handed a cash tip. Whereas the owner and managers fixed this each time, it’s the reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of five.
El Portal also offers a delivery service and you can order online to boot. This is new to me and I have not tried it yet due to the prices being nearly double for an online order.
This is a casual Mexican restaurant that can lean toward upscale with good service, great food and a nice atmosphere. It’s clean and has bright corners as well as dark corners so you can plan your evening accordingly. I highly recommend it. Just don’t let the “owner’s son” take your credit card.

Stopped on a whim after smelling the food as I drove by. Since I hadn’t eaten all day, I splurged on the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, veggies, garlic bread, and a 12 oz Stella Artois. The plate that came out was massive. Everything was really tasty, but the surprise star was the roasted mixed veggies. Carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli had been tossed in a very tasty garlic spice blend and lightly roasted. To be honest, I would have been very content with just a large bowl of that for dinner and nothing else. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the potatoes were drowning in a lovely white country gravy. The server was super friendly and efficient, checking in on me about every 10-15 min to see if I needed anything. I don’t make it up to Omak very often, but next time I do this will definitely be a repeat.

We are around 80 and can say there food is on average off the charts. Ate there 4 times when in Omak. The Ruben, bacon burger, club sandwich with fries are fantastic. The scramble is better with fries or homemade spuds. The place is clean, waitress is great. Not any customers at noon. Please support a great cook and restaurant. This is the best food north of Wenatchee

The food was comparable to the other restaurants in the area. I’ll try poached egg dish next time as that looks like something they want to specialize in. Although only open less than a week, the service was lacking. This server could use a little more training table training. But I’m sure will get better in time.

I got the skirt steak, what was given was not skirt steak it was cross rib steak thin slice. If they’re not going to give skirt steak at least let the customer know that you don’t have it, the beans as well tasted like the canned smashed beans which is a first normally they are fresh beans smashed like it should be.
