Food here has always been fantastic and it was still the same this go round.
However by far the worst service we have ever had. Ordered drinks and Queso, wrong drink delivered, queso delivered but no chips, right drink delivered, still no chips, we ask for chips. After another 5 to 8 minutes or so we stopped a different employee and ask for chips. Shortly after that our waiter brought the chips.
Food came out not as quick as normal but still tasty.
I don’t know if our waiter was having a bad night or what.
We will probably take an extended break for 3 or 4 months before we are back.
I will update my review next go round.
Service was pretty fast. Didn’t take long to get food. I ordered the lunch burrito. No complaints. Good food at a good lunch price. This is a good one to keep on radar when deciding what to eat.
The restaurant serves generous portions of delicious Mexican food. The quality of the food and the service has been consistently very good over the last 4 years we have eaten here. We drove up for lunch today and enjoyed the carne asada and the chiles rellenos.
The meal comes with the typical chips and salsa. Hot salsa is available on request and is recommended. The chiles rellenos were large and covered with an excellent sauce. The carne asada was two thin sliced steaks, grilled, cut perfectly (cross grain) and covered with grilled onions. The onions on the carne asada had been sautéed in a mild adobo sauce that went well with the beef. The beef was thin enough and tender enough that I could cut it with a table knife. Both meals came with a generous portion of rice and beans. The carne asada came with guacamole. The guacamole was a blended with sour cream. It was good, but I prefer it without the sour cream. I also ordered “a chili toreado” but the waitress brought out a small bowl with 3. I enjoyed them all. The service was great. The restaurant is clean and comfortable.
So, if you are in Ponca City, this is a very good Mexican restaurant. Enjoy it and be sure to order a chili toreado to go with your meal
If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection “Jalapeno Highway” by Spike S. on Yelp. I’ve probably been there.
Service was very polite and quick. Make sure to stop here the next time you are in Ponca City. You will not be disappointed!
