Ordered a pitcher of margaritas and chorizo queso. Our margaritas were poured out of a gallon plastic jug, normal lime flavor, but had a strange hue. The flavor was off, no other way to describe it. The worst margarita I’ve ever had. Oh yeah, our queso never came.

My girlfriend and I grew up in Nashville and we are used to the Tex-Mex style of the South. El Patio is the closest we’ve found to that style in Detroit, and honestly, it hits the spot every time. Chips and salsa come standard and they don’t skimp on their margaritas. Service is friendly and authentic, prices are fair, and they have those classic wooden booths perfect for hanging out in for an extra hour while you talk with your friends over your second margarita. If you’re missing that Southern-style Tex-Mex up here, this is the move.

We ordered delivery from their website and door dash picked it up. They gave the driver the wrong food. The driver was willing to go back and swap but when we called the restaurant they were extremely rude and yelled at us saying they are busy and it wasn’t their problem. We weren’t sending the driver back to that. They have good food but their employees are very rude. We have had multiple issues in person (when they weren’t busy) and have always shrugged it off. This was the last straw. Go to Troy if you want to eat here. The Berkley one is unfortunately terrible.

Pretty inside. That’s about it. Good chips and salsa. Otherwise served me a raw steak and they took it back but very short interactions, never apologized. I tried to eat it but it was just bloody. Didn’t ask how I wanted it cooked which would have helped.
We were just waiting on our check (it was 15 minutes to close) and they couldn’t wait soon enough to sweep up and put up chairs. Odd customer service. A lot better mex in the area.

The food is priced wonderfully. You get a lot of food for under $15. Is it the best Mexican you’ve had? No. But it’s far from the worst. While well cooked it could benefit from some more flavor. The meat especially.
Chips and Salsa are the highlight. The salsa is phenomenal when it’s not too salty. There are a lot of vegan options.
Now the service is the worst part of the visit. The servers are not inviting. While they are not rude, they are not happy or nice either. They seem one click away from being annoyed or agitated all the time. They also do not check back on u much once you’ve placed an order. It kinda feels like they’re waiting for you to leave. I don’t expect phony smiles or butt kissing but refilling beverages when they get low, asking how the food is, etc could go a long way here.

The food was very tasty! The staff were very attentive. We had a big table and they handled our orders promptly and efficiently. My husband ordered the special and he was completely stuffed before he finished all of the options. I had the shrimp fajitas and it was very delicious.

Possibly the worst service and food we have ever paid for. The only thing worse than the terrible food was the service. The man that delivered the food actually flexed on me when I asked for the sour cream the menu advertised. Then when he came back and asked about our dinner, I showed him that my burrito was floating in water. He left it on the table and left it on the bill. Please don’t spend your money at this restaurant. We tried it when it was new…..gave them time, went back for date time. The worst experience in YEARS. Such a shame.

Food wasn’t the best. Chicken was over cooked, lack of flavor and bland enchilada sauce, chicken taco and guacamole. Margarita was too strong which made it hard to drink. Couldn’t get draft beer. They said all taps weren’t working but we noticed they cleaned the bar two hours before closing and stopped serving drafts. Service was not the best either. Was forgotten about a few times. Overall, price was good for what we got but I wouldn’t come back.
