We decided to take a different route home from Ft Worth to Cypress/Houston and stopped in Mexia for Mexican food and let me tell you, it’s the best Mexican food I’ve had in a while and we frequent the Mexican restaurants around Cypress. Husband agrees. I had two beef enchiladas with queso sauce, rice and charro beans. Husband had the Chili Relleno with queso sauce, rice and charros. The enchilada wasn’t dry and probably the best I’ve had- the corn tortilla was perfection. The Chili Relleno was made authentically and was so so good. Charros were delish with lots of ham, onion etc- great flavor. The rice- I usually don’t care for the rice at 99% of Mexican restaurants, but theirs was perfectly seasoned and fluffy. The young waitress was excellent and had a beautiful smile. Ambiance was normal for this type of small restaurant and it seemed clean. We may have to go off the beaten path again to come back! 5 stars for the food!

We were staying at Ft. Parler State Park over the weekend but the rain keep us locked up in the cabin but I wanted some fajitas, who doesn’t! The food was good and satisfied my fajitas craving!

Very clean. Service was good but nothing special. Plates were hot food was not. Lots of food on the plate though. Lunch special Monday through Friday 10 AM to 3 PM. Unfortunately, the server failed to ask if we wanted beef or chicken on our lunch selections. I got beef by default and I don’t eat beef I eat chicken so that was disappointing. On the positive side, as the pictures will show, the inside was relatively clean bar was beautiful. Extensive bar menu bathrooms were clean although the door knob was broken on the ladies room. Overall typical nothing special Mexican restaurant but I’ve been to worse and I’ve been to better so try it. Just don’t set your expectations very high and you’ll have an enjoyable experience.

I’m in town for work and saw this place Sunday on my way in so I stopped to eat. Today is Thursday and I’ve been back every night since. Food is fast and hot and tastes great. I’ve had a different server every night and I can’t say enough good things about them. They are fast and friendly and multiple people checked in on me each time. I’ll be coming back (again )

Nice little place was a bit pricey for just some average food but our server was on point and we in general had a great time.

We love this place. It’s where my old favorite, Los Pepe’s, once was – but I have to say, El Patio has done a great job of taking its place. I am a creature of habit, and I have ordered the cheese chili relleno more times than I should probably admit…lol. But it’s so good. I often get the sauce on the side, but you can choose from any of the sauces they offer & you can add pretty much any protein – I just happen to love the plain old, oooey-gooey stringy cheddar cheese. My 16 year old son loves their carne asada enchiladas & the shrimp nachos. The service is good, restaurant is clean, oh! And don’t forget dessert. They have a fried cheesecake that is not to be missed. The tres leches layered cake is amazing and even the plain cheesecake is pretty good – but no comparison to the first two I listed. The fajitas for 2 will feed 4 – so it’s a steal & so good.
