This was my second visit to El Patio after a great first experience. My girlfriend and I decided to share the fajitas and ordered a house margarita to go with it.
Our server was juggling a large table of 12+ guests at the same time, so she seemed understandably overwhelmed. As a result, there was a little confusion with the menu, we needed up with an extra side of rice. Not a big deal at all, we can enjoy it another day.
However, when the margarita arrived, while the presentation was appealing, I noticed something unusual as I stirred it. On closer inspection, there was a mosquito frozen inside one of the ice cubes. Needless to say, that was disappointing and a bit off-putting.
I understand that things happen, especially during busy times, but this is something that definitely needs attention. The food itself was good, and I appreciate the overall atmosphere. With a bit more attention to detail, I believe El Patio can continue to be a solid spot for dining out.

Food quality has changed drastically from previous visits. Our queso was so watery and thin. My wife and I both ate the enchiladas primo, and both were dissatisfied with the quality. The chicken inside the enchiladas seemed to be canned chicken, or premade versus fresh. It truly was disappointing.

In town for a couple days for work. Tried this place because it was next to my hotel. Huge mistake. I ordered beef tacos and chicken enchiladas. The food was average at best.
Within a couple hours of eating i got extremely sick and have been in the bathroom non stop.

This is one of our favorite places to go for Mexican food. The food is always amazing and fresh. Our waitress was the only waitress at the time of our visit and was taking great care of everyone in the restaurant. She was amazing. The atmosphere is nice and cozy with colorful decor. We are never disappointed when stopping in for a bite to eat here. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

We are new to the area and looking for a good mexican food restaurant similar to what we were use to in Texas. We found the central Mexico and Vera Cruz Mexico style cooking we were looking for at this restaurant. The chips were crisp and thin and the salsa served with the chips had a great flavor without having too many jalapenos covering up the flavor. The salsa was very mild to me, but was lightly spiced for my wife.
We received large portions, very hot plates and food that was spiced for flavor and not just loaded with jalapeno peppers to be “Authentic.” Nothing ruins a meal that someone loads with peppers to be “Texas or Mexico” Style in a contest for the spiciest meal.
The Carne Asada was quality meat, juicy and not dried out and the stuffed peppers were nice quality peppers without being stringy. The beans and rice were flavorful and in perfect portion size. They had a large selection of seafood dishes that we will be trying next time. The service was attentive and the food was served promptly.
We will be returning and highly recommend this restaurant.

Should probably update your hours on your website now that you are closing earlier. Got there at 955 and was turned away saying they close at 10:00 when online it says 10:30pm. Saw 6 other people also turned away as we walked back to our car. Was here from out of town so we looked up the hours before driving over

I went into this restaurant because I was getting the car serviced at noon. There was no one else hardly in the restaurant and I wondered why. I ordered 1 burrito, a small bowl of queso and water the total bill $26.00.
Yes my bad for not asking but about 4 oz of queso dip was 5.50. Never make that mistake again. I’m suprised that they are still in business.

Decided I needed Mexican so ended up at El patio in Alachua for convenience and what a pleasant surprise to have Jamie again as my server at a different location. As always, she did a great job making it a pleasurable experience. El patio is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area and you can’t go wrong with either location.
