Ate at El Paso Mexican Restaurant and it absolutely delivered. The birria tacos were outstanding—rich, tender, and packed with flavor. The consommé was deep and savory, perfect for dipping, and the tortillas were crisped just right.
Big shout-out to Jacky, our waitress, who was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Service like that really stands out. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere—highly recommend.

If you’re searching for an authentic and absolutely delicious meal, you need to come here! This was hands down the best meal we’ve had since moving back to Virginia. The birria tacos were so cheesy and scrumptious… and the mixed meat burrito had GINORMOUS!!! On top of the taste, the portion sizes are huge and the price is really really good. Can’t beat it!
The staff are so friendly and welcoming as well. You’ll leave here with a full belly and a smile on your face! Can’t wait to go back again.

El Paso on Cooper Road is a dependably good lunch experience. (Wife and I lunch there five-ish times annually.) Wait staff usually very attentive and service is fast for the quality of food.
If we want a no-fail lunch for a decent price in 22309, El Paso is near top of the list.

Our daughter recently graduated from college and when we asked her where she’d like to go to eat and celebrate right after the ceremony she selected this restaurant.
You know how much we love to try new places so we we were game. She rode with a friend (boyfriend but my husband can’t accept it yet – story for a whole other day). Let’s stay focused here. We were supposed to meet them but they went to a different location so we decided to sit down and order while waiting for them to arrive. Yes we ordered for them as well – we weren’t going to be rude and the restaurant was closing in a little bit as well.
Idalia was our waitress and she was very kind and helpful. She welcomed us in with a warm sweet smile and answered all questions we had while also helping us to make selections that suited our individual tastes that evening.
Prior to our meals arriving she brought some of the best salsa I’ve ever tasted at a Mexican restaurant, complete with chips and an excellent Margarita, which our son helped me drink.
My husband ordered the Chori-Mixto so did our daughter’s “friend”. I ordered Steak, Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas add cheese on the side. Our son ordered the Quesadilla and our daughter ordered the Birria Tacos . Our daughter and her friend arrived before the food was delivered to the table and we were all able to eat, celebrate her achievements and be merry together.
The food was excellent and very flavorful. It arrived accurate to our order, fresh and hot – just as you’d expect. Don’t you just LOVE how Fajitas come sizzling on a hot plate?!? YUMMY!!! Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. We all asked for “to go” containers because although the food was excellent, the portions were huge and we couldn’t eat it all in one sitting. That’s another amazing thing about this restaurant, you get a huge portion, which offers a lot of value for the money.
The bathrooms were being cleaned and I got up a couple of times to go but they were still working on them. Idalia noticed and came to the table letting me know I could go in. She was attentive to all details of our visit, which we all really appreciated. We truly had an excellent experience with her.
The restaurant is very well maintained and beautiful. From the furniture to the art on the walls, all were individual works of art and beautiful. The decor is colorful, bright and it holds a lot of talent and history from various artisans.
Well let me wrap this review up by saying we had an excellent visit here all the way around. This is definitely one of the best experiences I’ve ever encountered at a Mexican restaurant – or any restaurant, for that matter. From the waitress, to the food, to the visual artistry, to the value for the money – all was AMAZING!
They offer outdoor seating options, plenty of parking, a full service bar and a variety of menu offerings to suit every taste. What more could you want? Give this place a prompt visit and make sure to treat Idalia right when you go. The whole staff is wonderful and you’ll have an excellent culinary adventure. I love El Paso, probably the best Mexican food in VA and the Beltway area. Being from California I hereby dub them legit and authentic. The birria pizza was , carne asada is on point, burritos are great; every time I come here its always good. The margaritas are fuego flame as well. Gracias El Paso! We’ll be back 100%.

Really love this El Paso location! Food quality, atmosphere, and cleanliness are great and definitely better than the sister location further north on Rt1 (but that location gets better service reviews from me so far). Since trying the Tabalso De Tacos, it’s our go-to pick up order, and especially great on a weekend night when you don’t want to wait for a table for dining in. Value is excellent—20 tacos, beans, rice, salsa, chips for $45. Highly recommend. (Bonus reco: Save room for a paleta de leche—milk-based freezer pops they keep in a cooler at the entry—when you dine in. If it’s warm, get ‘em to go and sit outside and enjoy!)
