The happy plate was terrible, shrimp tasted like they were precooked and not raw and grilled, the steak tasted like a napkin. The service was terrible took forever to be brought chips and salsa I guess cause we were outside. The waiter was no friendly at all she didn’t even look at us while talking.. 0/10 the entire experience.

If u want a bang for your buck go out your way to El Paso in west Monroe LA.. El Paso in Monroe .. food was wayyyyyyy under portion for the price .. and. Bunch of dudes standing there welcoming you like you just walked in to Conn’s appliances.. AND THENNNNNNNNN ONE TACO MEAT TASTE SPOLID…..how dare they feed me that meat!!!!!!!!

We went for a late lunch around 3pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t crowded at all and we were immediately seated. The waitress was wonderful, very attentive and helped the children decide what to order. We enjoyed one order of queso & chips for an appetizer. It was plenty for 2 people, but stretched for 4 of us. We ordered 2 shrimp fajitas, 1 beef & bean burrito plate, and enchiladas, plus 4 sweet teas and 1 Corona. The guacamole was fresh and so good! While waiting for our meal, the kids took pictures with the bull and they had small . A band was setting up for music later. Our bill for a family of 4 came to $128, plus tip. While a little pricey, it was worth it, and we came home with 3 huge take home plates full. We will definitely be going back!

Great location and plenty of parking. There are several seating areas, bar, inside, and outside. Morgan was our hostess, and although she was new, she was pretty cool. The Happy Plate is great. Large servings, leftovers highly likely. Their burritos are pretty good. Cold draft beer. They could do a better job of cleaning the dining area, being that we saw 4-5 staffers at the front of the restaurant standing around and talking. That’s a reflection of management.
11/23/22: We stopped by for an early dinner, sat at the bar, and Sophia was bartending. She was very friendly and knew her regulars. I had a ice cold draft beer and she had a Margarita. The sampler platter was good, except for the chicken tenders. The salsa that came with the chips was very good. We had a better experience sitting at the bar with Sophia and that other times we had sat in the dining room. Will likely continue to sit at the bar during future visits, and looking forward to Sophia taking care of us.
2023: We usually stop here while visiting Monroe. The food is great and made to order. We enjoy sitting at the bar and Sophia is always welcoming. The atmosphere is great. Sometimes they have live music. If something is not right, the staff is quick to correct it. There are plenty of sitting areas inside, and they have a large outdoor patio.
6/20/24: Stopped by for dinner with family, and unfortunately didn’t sit at the bar. We sat at a table, and Carmelo was our server. It started off bad when he knocked the salsa bottle on the table, spilling it on a couple sitting across from us at the table. He had a hard time taking our order and getting the drinks correct. The food was good, but his service was terrible. We had to get the tab corrected, because it had drinks that we didn’t have. I’m glad that this wasn’t our first visit, because it probably would’ve been our last. Next time, we will definitely sit at the bar, especially if Sophia is working.
6/23/24: We stopped by and sat at the bar. Sophia wasn’t working and of all people, Carmelo was at the bar. We almost left due to our most recent experience with him on 6/20/24. We decided to stay because the food is good. Even placing the order with him at the bar was painful. I had to repeat our drink and food order, and he appeared confused. PSA: If you want great customer service, steer clear of Carmelo!

Ordered to go dinner for my family on Christmas Eve after leaving church. Got home in West Monroe and my child who is a vegetarian and will not eat any of the other food we ordered because it all contained meat, had nothing to eat. My other child’s meal was wrong. And we were given a small queso when we paid for a large. I called and requested a refund for the meal we didn’t receive and I was told I had to bring it back to the restaurant. I questioned how it was supposed to return a meal I didn’t receive and then the manager hung up on me. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN WORSE, CONSIDERING IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE! I don’t usually take the time to leave reviews, but this was beyond ridiculous to expect me to drive 20 minutes to return food that we didn’t receive in the first place. Paid over $100 for this meal.

Wife and I usually stop here when we are in Monroe and it has not disappointed us yet.
The wife ordered fajitas while I ordered the enchiladas. This is the only place I’ve need here in Central Louisiana that serves bean dip with the chips and and salsa.
Our waiter was polite and helpful, attentive but not hovering.
We’ll be back again in a few months and look forward to stopping in again.

Huge restaurant, excellent seating service. Staff is very courteous and polite. The food was okay. Maybe I dint order the right entrees, but I would go back again because of the grilled chicken Chimichanga. Polloasada Chicken was also nice. The chips and salsa was amazing. The prices are bit on the expensive side.

Customer service was horrible I guess they didn’t want to service blacks. A different race of couple joined the bar and they immediately catered to them. Definitely will not be back. It’s crazy how things are like this in 2026.

Great food, very nice inside, way cleaner than last place. Live band was playing good music when we were here Friday night. Slight wait, but was seated in reasonable time. Highly recommend eating here.

It’s a Mexican restaurant. You’ve been to one you’ve been to em all. However their margarita pitcher was pretty cool; a long tube with a spigot. That was neat.
