Always have a fantastic time at El Paso, but largely includes company and conversation. The restaurant has a decent size parking lot, with lots of seating inside. On the many visits, I’ve never had to wait more than two minutes to be seated. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are typical menu prices at comparable restaurants. And the food…two of us tried completely new dishes and both loved what we ordered. I got the nacho fries with two beans and no meat, and the flavors literally burst on my tongue, it was so, so good! Highly recommend. Family is returning fairly soon and I’ve already asked to get a to-go order of that dish. In the past, I’ve gotten burritos, fajitas, or usual/standard dishes, which have all been delicious, but I like the creativity an established restaurant tried to shake things up a bit for their regular customers. I appreciate it. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

A pretty decent meal.
I had the glebe mixed platter which was a filling plate, variety was good my Pina colada was amazing and sweet.

Staff were friendly.

Would visit again when in the neighborhood

El Paso is always such a solid spot — great food, great atmosphere, and really good service. Jimmy especially deserves a shoutout! Super attentive, friendly, and just on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. You can tell he actually cares about making sure people have a good time. Definitely makes the whole experience even better. The whole staff was on it as it got busy, and all the food smelled incredible.

A solid-tasting, and always-busy offering of Tex-Mex in NOVA, with good drinks and plentiful food.

My significant other and I visited here on a Friday night. I’ve visited a few times in the past, and it’s always very busy. Tonight was no exception – we got one of the last tables at 5:45 and until we left there was a huge line at the door for a table.

The restaurant is well decorated inside, with a nice bar and orange-ish walls. For as busy as this place always is, the space is a bit small and large parties next to each other can feel very crowded.

The service was solid, especially for how busy it was. For food and drinks we kept it simple – to go with the chips and salsa I got a Diet Coke and Claudia’s Platter, while my partner ordered a Margarita and a Fajita Salad without the Taco Bowl.

I really like the Chips and Salsa – chips are fried right and the salsa is flavorful with the perfect amount of spice for 90% of people. The margarita on the rocks was very good, but strong. Would recommend if you’re looking to get ahead of your night out.

The entrees were solid, although not the best I’ve had in town. The food is plentiful – especially the platters. However with the loads of cheese it was hard for the flavor and spices of the meet to come through, and while I really liked how the rice was prepared the beans were a bit too liquid and lacking of flavor for my taste.

Overall a solid, casual dinner experience outside of the main streets of Arlington. Although be prepared for crowds and a wait if you come during dinner.

Very surprised by the service I received tonight. Went here many times over the years. I called in my order and went to pick up. When I arrived no one was at the host stand. So I stood there and looked around. The waitresses looked at me and no one came to ask me if I needed help. For over 10 min I stood there and no one came. Then a white group of people came in and the waitress came right away to seat them and walked away. Then stood there again for 5 min before they came to me and asked if I needed something. Then I explained I was there for over 15 min and you even seated the people who came in long after me and I am just picking up food. I talked to the manager who said they dont serve ask questions when ppl are on the phone yet little does she know I was picking up for my sister who just gave birth and helping her and quickly needed to pick up her food. They wasted my time and treated me as if I didn’t matter. Then when she opened the food which was 5 min away it was room temp ( chicken enchiladas, rice, beans) I will not return here again. The service was terrible and the manager on duty was okay with treating ppl who had been there many years with disregard.

Vacationing in DC for the 1st time. My daughters selected El Paso Cafe. An excellent choice. The food was fantastic in presentation, temperature, and taste. Our server provided excellent service. My daughters opted for the steak fajitas and chicken burrito, and for me, the Maricos Saltados (a combination of shrimp, calamari, and scallops – lots of scallops , rice and mixed veggies). . Their chips and salsa are made in house, and were delicious. The atmosphere was great to boot.

The food here is authentic and great! The staff is super friendly and attentive, always quick to notice refills are needed. The chips and salsa brought out when you first arrive are good and the meals are good too. I got the enchiladas mixtas and the refried beans on the side were the best I’ve ever had! The burritos are also good and super cheesy! The place has a nice feel inside and the people are awesome.

Well, this is just the cutest place. Excellent chips and salsa. We had fajitas, enchiladas, and both were excellent. I would arrive early, on a weekend night. There was even a mariachi band. It was right in the neighborhood so we were able to walk. The deep fried ice cream was wonderful.

As a Hispanic person who is a native Texan, I’m judging this restaurant – which is named “El Paso” and has lots of cool, fun Texas themes all inside the restaurant – according to true authentic Tex-Mex standards.

While the atmosphere of this restaurant is decently cozy and spacious, feeling similar to a mid-sizer Texas restaurant, the food leaves much to be desired.

Nothing we ate was bad. But you’re paying DC prices for food that’s (a) not consistently Tex-Mex (there are a lot of other South American cuisines seemingly represented on the menu; nothing wrong with that but it’s strange for a place holding itself out as Tex-Mex with a Texas city name), (b) the flavors aren’t particularly Tex-Mex, and (c) the ingredients don’t seem authentic.

Our beans were obviously straight from a can (actually my wife said it tasted exactly like the Old El Paso brand of canned beans, so I guess kudos for name consistency). The flour tortillas were also store-bought and not particularly notable. Salsa lacked spice (but had good smoky flavor). Enchiladas were so-so.

Portion sizes were decent. Drink prices were too expensive (DC prices).

Overall, this is not a bad restaurant. The atmosphere is peaceful and nice. But if you want authentic Tex-Mex food, you’re not going to find it here.
