My mother and I tried out this place the other day for lunch when we were downtown Commerce. I was disappointed with our food. The chips and salsa were good. I ordered the lunch special Texas Rice, it has grilled chicken, steak and shrimp over the rice smothered in cheese dip. Unfortunately the chicken was overcooked and dried out. There was another customer complaining about her food while we were there eating as well. Maybe it was a new cook but the quality of the food wasn’t like the prior reviews I had read. Not sure if I would go back again since it wasn’t anything to write home about.

Will not be eating el parian in downtown commerce again. This is my plate of 3 tacos I was served tonight. When I was trying to tell the server they brought me a plate that someone had eaten off of their was a couple with a child in the corner the gentleman stood up and said my son just ate that taco and we sent it back because it was wrong. They served my food to someone else then when it got sent back they brought it back out to me off of the other table. Shame on y’all do better El parian…

Some of the best Mexican food my husband and I have had in years! From the moment we walked in it was a welcoming atmosphere. It wasn’t too loud and we had an amazing time talking without feeling like we were yelling to be heard. The wait wasn’t long and they accommodated us perfectly with adding or taking away things from our ordered dish. Our drinks were out in less than a minute. Our food was some of the tastiest food I have had eating out at a restaurant in a very long time. Absolutely no complaints. I will definitely be revisiting this place and would recommend anyone to eat here as well.

This is our family’s go to for Mexican food in Commerce. Food and drinks are great and the staff has always been on top of everything even when we have gone on a busier day and/or time. Highly recommend if your looking for good Mexican food in the area.

Absolutely the best Mexican restaurant! The service is great. The prices are very reasonable. In historic downtown Commerce. Chunky guacamole and burrito Texano are the best for our order. Kids meals are 4.99. That price is unheard of in this current inflation.

The food is always amazing — fresh, flavorful, and consistently great every single time we visit. We’ve tried pretty much all the other Mexican spots around Commerce, and none of them even come close.
One of the best parts is the people. Over the years we’ve actually become friends with a lot of the staff, and they’re always so welcoming, friendly, and make us feel right at home. If you’re looking for great food and an even better atmosphere, this place is the best choice around!
