SALVADOR PUPUSAS AND TAMALES. I like the fish and the pan con pollo. Sundays after church is always a good day for a visit here. Service is friendly and effective. I recommend you come try it out. Enjoy whatever you try I am sure you will like. Thank you papá turro staff.

My only complaint is the curtido could use just a little more vinegar. I had the bite encebollado, and took home some pupusas revueltos for my wife. The food is delicious! You can taste the pride and love in the cooking.

They have great PUPUSAS, I would recommend the pupusas over any others I have eaten in Albuquerque restaurants. The Curtido (like a slaw) is excellent. Their food is authentic. A MUST EAT AT PLACE. This is a family run business and is not a chain store!!!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! FOOD IS FRESH!!!!!

Super friendly family-ran restaurant. Authentic and traditional Salvadorian meals. A nice family atmosphere. Could be fun for the kiddies to try some foods from another culture there! The host was very patient and explained the meal items. I tried the pupusas and they are a Salvadorian staple. Super tasty and a few pupusas will fill you up! I also tried the Platillo Feliz (Happy Plate) and all of the items are a safe bet! Highly recommended!

My wife spotted this one day when we were eating at Dave’s Valley Grill next door. It took a while as we kept forgetting about it. How I wish we had eaten here sooner! The food is fantastic, especially the Papusa! I had the bean and cheese stuffed papusa. It’s flavorful without the heavy feeling of frijoles and the cheese is creamy. Be sure to add the cabbage and tomato to it. I recommend the Happy Plate as you can sample several items along with the Papusa such as plantains, a vegetable empanada, yucca root and a desert type food that I forget the name of. All of it is incredible. The staff is warm, friendly and patient in explaining the menu. All in all a wonderful experience. We’ll be back, often!

I visited this restaurant after a good friend recommended it, as we love pupusas and were excited to try a new place. Unfortunately, from the moment I walked in, the experience was disappointing!!
When I entered, two employees simply stared at me, there was no greeting or acknowledgment. I approached the counter on my own, only to be met with the same silence. Due to a recent theft of my wallet, I am currently using Apple Pay. When I asked if they accepted tap to pay, the employee made it unnecessarily difficult, stating their system “has problems,” would need to be reset, if I cause it problems with paying and asking if I had any other form of payment. This was said in a way that felt dismissive and inconvenient rather than helpful.
When I proceeded to order, the employee appeared visibly irritated that I was placing an order at all. I mentioned that this was our first visit and that the experience hadn’t been great so far due to the attitude and lack of hospitality. There was no response…just a blank stare.
First impressions matter, and basic customer service like greeting guests and being kind goes a long way. Unfortunately, none of that was present during our visit. Because of this experience, I don’t see us returning or recommending this restaurant to others.

This was our first time eating Salvadorean food in ABQ and we had a blast! We enjoyed every single piece of tamal, pupusa, salad juice!! Fried Yuca on point, good parking. Definitely we’ll back!

Great little restaurant. The pupusas were full of flavor. I liked the bean and cheese and my husband enjoyed the cheese one. They are very filling. We each got 3 but could only eat 2 each. The waitress was helpful and patient with us. I do recommend giving them a try.

Here’s my honest opinion when it comes Salvadoreño restaurants in Albuquerque. This restaurant is #1 when it comes to authentic, taste, freshness and value. The pupusa’s are huge and delicious no other compares. Restaurant El Salvadoreño On Bridge comes in #2. Gobble This is in far last at #3, but this is only because their food is way overpriced coming at $20 a plate for 1 pupusa. I would definitely recommend to not try Yarling’s Pupuseria as bad reviews for that restaurant are 100% true.

Do not pass this place up! The food here is delicious! The pupusas are big and very filling. For the first time I tried a pupusa filled with bean, cheese and green chile and I fell in love. I couldn’t get enough. This restaurant is a no frills hole in the wall. The staff is friendly and the food comes out relatively fast. The menu is very affordable. Beware: the pupusas are very addicting so be sure to get more than one.
