Chips and salsa were served warm immediately as you get seated and always asked if you want it refilled. Service was great. We had enchiladas rancheras with beef and machaca plate with beef. Both were pretty good, not too salty. Portions were big as well.

The Best! Fantastic food, service, menu, and prices! We’ve lived in the area for 2 years and have tried them all, but man, I wish we found this place sooner! Your glass is never empty. The chips and salsa are refilled before before you have time to finish the basket. The whole staff works together to make sure every table is taken care of the whole meal. I have been to this restaurant more times than I can count. The restaurant is clean neat with super comfortable booths. The wait staff is phenomenal, nothing falls through their fingers. Now to the food one word describes it, unforgettable. I am not just talking about one item, I am talking them all of them and I haven’t even gotten the chips and salsa yet. Just sitting here writing this is making my stomach rumble and mouth water. I don’t usually recommend an entrée but you have to try the Basil Chicken, oh my! Now to the chips, I can’t get enough of them even when I can’t move. If you live in the neighborhood and haven’t gone, what are you waiting for? Definitely missing out. Stop in you will fall in love too.

El Palmar has wonderful Mexican food in the neighborhood in Carmichael, California. They have been at the corner of El Camino and Mission for as long as I can remember. Chips and Salsa are served when you first arrive. Both are fresh. The menu has many options, from lunch combos to dinner options. The lunch combos are served with enough food that you do not feel like you are still hungry when you leave. And the food is always served hot (except those things that are meant to be cold) and delicious. The seating is spacious so that you don’t feel crowded into the person sitting next to you and the atmosphere gives you the feeling of being at a cantina in a small town in Mexico.
