I found this restaurant on Google this morning when googling breakfast burritos. The cashier was friendly and looked like a nice environment (my order was to go). I ordered the mix breakfast burrito and it was ok. It was good size and I was full for the day. My eyes were more hungry than my stomach. My only complaint one of the meats seemed more chewy. I would go in this hole in whole restaurant again.

Best biggest most flavorful and authentic birria burrito i’ve had in a very long time . i really enjoy the food here . Thursdays wet burrito special (your choice of meat) $11.95 .. You can’t beat that anywhere and it’s sooo delicious 5⭐️

Delicious food and great selection! I got the mole chilaquiles with carne asada and they knocked it out of the park! The only thing I would change is not having my carne asada slightly overcooked but it was still very much edible.
Update 2025, this visit was much different, I asked for them to not overcook the asada and I was given a smaller portion and more burnt then last time. The plate seem to get lighter but managed to be $20 just for the plate. The mole seemed cold as well, I only ate it because I was hungry and it was expensive. So sad to see a favorite decline so fast. Still had great service though.

We are from Boston and stopped here for lunch while driving between LA and Death Valley. The food is incredible and the staff so hospitable ! Don’t let the unassuming exterior detour you- this is authentic homemade food with fresh ingredients. They have a hearty vegetarian menu as well. While there are several eateries in this area, el Montecito is a true gem.

We visited El Montecito due to recommendations from the High Desert Foodies Facebook group. On a Sunday, we chose it for breakfast and quickly found a table. Our order included chilaquiles con mole, chilaquiles con carne asada in salsa verde, and a burrito. The service from the kitchen was slower than what we’ve experienced at similar establishments. The chilaquiles were notably good and flavorful. The coffee, infused with a hint of cinnamon, might not suit everyone’s taste, but it was acceptable to us. The total cost, $75 for two chilaquiles, two coffees, and a burrito, felt steep.

Fantastic restaurant! The staff is so friendly, the portions are huge without breaking the bank, and you can tell a lot of love goes into the operation. I had the quesobirria tacos and a carne asada burrito (the size of my head!!)

Place came recommended from personnel at a facility I was working at near by. When you say hole in the wall places are the best, this one makes that list. Service was fast and friendly for lunch time. Food came out quickly after we ordered. And tab didn’t hurt my wallet at all. Very authentic and full of flavor. Don’t let the neighborhood discourage you. Def recommend stopping in. I will be returning a couple more times before leaving town

WOW!!!!! I’d give it 10 stars if I could. The food was amazing, it is extremely authentic Mexican food. They have great prices. The place it self is extremely clean and has a great atmosphere. We enjoyed two burritos, two tortas, a pozole and QUESO BIRRIA TACOS they come with consume (birria juice). If you come here you will definitely be pleased coming here, prices are great and the food is even better.

We were looking for the healthiest place to eat on our road-trip back from Yosemite. It was 7:30pm and this restaurant closed at 8. The staff were friendly and welcomed us and provided a delicious, authentic Mexican meal of shrimp fajitas. Don’t be fooled by the unimpressive exterior of this building or complex. The interior, staff and food are excellent and we look forward to stopping again on our next trip.

The food was blahhh!!! Staff was friendly but the service could’ve been better. I would try them again to see if maybe we picked a bad day. But I definitely wouldn’t recommend them from this experience alone.
