Every other Thursday night starting at 5:30pm, they have live music. It was very enjoyable. They came around to each table and even had maracas for my 3 granddaughters to shake along with the music. They absolutely loved it. Memories were made. The food and service were good too.

Listen, I love El Mezon, but I am picky. I order alacarte for this reason. During my last two visits, I received the meal. I politely ask for a plate to remove the entree from the side items. Each time, they charge me for the whole meal that I do not order or eat.

Came here for lunch expecting a lunch portion and got a dinner portion which I’m not complaining, it was very very good and I will definitely be coming back here again, I got the queso with the chips and a California burrito! There were plenty of things on the menu that I would love to try. Service was very quick and the food came out even quicker

I have traveled through Mexico, and have had a lot of great food there, but El Mezon serves the basics (burritos, enchiladas, etc.) of Mexican food as good as any I’ve had in Mexico! They don’t have many regional specialties, like cimatas or pozole, but what they do serve here is awesome. We have been numerous times now, and the food is always outstanding and served in great portion sizes. The service is fast and efficient, but some of the servers can seem a little distracted. The place is constantly crowded, but I see that as a good thing considering the food. Highly recommended!

We came here by looking up places to eat on Google maps. This is a true gem. The food here was very good and hot when it came out. Everybody in our party got exactly what we ordered. Nobody had to send anything back. It was a great meal. Everything tasted good and we had a good time. The service was great and we never needed anything. Our server was always there making sure we had everything we needed, without hovering over us. That’s a job well done. I definitely would go back and recommend to anybody looking for a good Mexican restaurant with big margaritas!

The food and service were great once we were seated. We were there to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we had 14 in our group. We tried to call and make a reservation, and we were told that they did not take reservations, even for a large group. We arrived early and got on the list. I could understand them seating small groups in booths, but when they continued seating larger groups (6-10 people) that came in after us, it got to be frustrating. When a member of our party questioned staff, they offered to seat us, but they could not seat us together. If you are not willing to take reservations for large groups, at least be fair and seat people in the order they came in. We waited over an hour while people who came in after us were seated ahead of us. We waited over an hour before we were seated. It was extremely hot in the restaurant, and they had ceiling fans that were not turned on. The food, drinks, and service we received once seated were all great.

I’m originally from Arizona, where amazing Mexican food is on every corner, so I’ve been on a serious quest since moving to Missouri. Let me tell you – good, authentic Mexican food is tough to find here… until I walked into El Mezon.
This place is POPPING. Every time I’ve been in, it’s packed with happy people, great music, and the best kind of lively energy (never chaotic, just fun and welcoming). The staff is incredibly friendly and quick – you can tell they genuinely care.
I kept it simple my first visit: soft steak tacos with cilantro, onion, cheese, plus chips, salsa, rice, and a horchata. Everything was absolutely delicious – fresh tortillas, perfectly seasoned carne asada, and that horchata was so good I ordered a second one on the spot (basically drank my dessert). Haven’t had Mexican food this legit outside of Arizona in a long time.
They’ve got a full bar if that’s your thing, plenty of family-friendly seating and the vibe is just spot-on. I’ve already been back multiple times and can’t wait to work my way through the rest of the menu.
If you’re craving real-deal Mexican food in Missouri, do yourself a favor and get to El Mezon. Easily one of the best spots in town – highly recommend!
