I will NEVER understand why it is so difficult to make a simple burrito with chicken and refried beans! If your employees can’t understand or speak English please provide a translator. I asked for a refried beans and chicken in the burrito with a side of queso cheese and cilantro rice. The ONLY thing they got right was the rice!

My mom and her girl friends say this is the best restaurant in town. My wife, kids and I had to give it a try. Three out of the four dishes were unbelievably incredible. The fourth just had very little taste. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was always there if we needed anything and a very pleasant young man. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is very inviting.

Decided to try El Mezcal Mexican restaurant, located in the same area as Ollies Bargains. Outside dining in front of building. Large restaurant, beautiful and clean and attractive with that Mexican flare and decor. The Marioche band, all dressed up in their costumes were entertaining everyone, very cool!! Got seated in a large booth and we had the sweetest and polite young man wait on us. Much to our surprise a young woman pulled up next to our booth with a cart and asked us if we were ordering Guacamole tonight and said she would personally hand make it for us, charge $10.00. Of course we said and we watched her create, made to order Guacamole, it was a big bowl of delicious fresh goodness, awesome and we tipped her. That was the beginning of an excellent experience. I ordered the Burris tacos and hub had el pastor tacos both with beans and rice. They were delicious as well as the chips and salsa. Great service from our waiter. Prices good, music lively, our bill was around 50.00 with tip. Paid our bill and left in a timely fashion. Very organized place and we had a great time. Come here and give them a try!! Debbie

This place was recommended to us. The food was excellent. The service in the beginning was fast, but the waitress didn’t check on us for a while after we were served. We could have used drink refills but we’re never asked. Otherwise everything was great! I would definitely recommend this to my friends and come here again when I’m back in the area.

Wow what a hidden gem. My family and I tried Mezcal this week and we’re beyond pleasantly surprised. We tried the pork carnitas and shrimp tacos. Both were very good. The rice was moist, not at all overcooked or undercooked. They had a kids menu which met my daughters needs. The margaritas were perfect. Very large inside, clean, and welcoming. Great service and not too loud. We liked this location over Ocala’s location.

We, 3 of us, stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. The lady making fresh guacamole came over and we got an order of it. That was absolutely the most amazing guacamole we all said we have ever ate. We all talked about it for days and wanted to go back before are trip was over. We also split the fajitas that came in the pineapple boat. That was also delicious and plenty for the 3 of us to split. So between the fresh guacamole and the fajitas it was enough for 3 of us and we also took home some in to go container. What a deal and what great food.
Can’t wait to go back for some more guacamole on our next trip.

I have ordered to go from here twice and was quite impressed with the portions of food. The chile relleno with chicken was absolutely delicious & the steak taco shooters were fabulous too. They give you fresh nachos with your order. I also have to say the house made guacamole is to die for. I love that it’s not hot initially but I’m sure they can crank up the heat level if you ask. Glad I finally made the decision to try this place. I look forward to trying more of the dishes. Very pleased

Amazing food and service! We where in the area for a vacation and decided to try some Mexican food. We all have our favorite Mexican restaurant back home and this place reminded us of that. The waiter we had was extremely kind and thoughtful and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was awesome and if you’re looking for something different order the super burrito with El pastor. It’s not on the menu but they will customize things for you and it was well worth it. We dinned at 7pm at night and usually the quality can drop off as it gets later or closer to closing but that was not the case here at all. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. If you’re looking for a decent meal with good service and nice clean place I highly recommend you check them out. For a family of 3 ordering extra side like cheese dip and hot sauces and drinks we paid right around $60 which I thought was really decent.
