The prices don’t match the food quality. I was honestly surprised at how aggressive their prices have become. You’ll spend close to $30 per person, but the food offerings are just Sysco products.
The chips need to be improved. This location is in a nice area that has many competitors within walking distance. This place needs to excel in SOMETHING. Make the chips from scratch? Something. This place just offers Sysco food and you can tell.
The staff aren’t attentive and often get my order wrong. I’ve had many experiences here where I have to get up and go looking for the staff. I’m not sure if this is an issue with understaffing or what, but this has been a consistent experience for me at this location.
I will say that this is the cleanest restaurant I’ve seen in this city. Whoever they have cleaning is doing it like rent is due. Very, very clean!

The drinks were great but the food wasn’t bad but I have had better in other establishments for lower prices. The dish I had was a bit bland but the fajita nachos my friend had was seasoned well. Unfortunately I have had better food at other Hispanic establishments that had way better food for cheaper prices. This was not worth my money at all. Once again the drinks were ok but it wasn’t great. Not to mention it was very busy and didn’t get a lot of needed attention from our waitress like we should have….other than that she was sweet overall but because of the busy crowd we barely got tended to.

The food is good but i was really pissed to be kind of scammed by the waiter… we were a good group of folks and without printing any bill he came for us to pay. He never mentioned the gratuity was included, never print a bill for us to check and suggested to everyone to add a tip and kept an eye above our shoulder to make sure we tipped enough… I realized afterwards I paid way too much for what I had just like all of my friends. We noticed he included the gratuity upfront and by not printing the bill he took advantage on us… really did not appreciate that behavior… you just lost a customer …

First time here and it was ok. We did have a large party. Wasn’t that many people in there. Our server did the best she could, looked like they were understaffed on a Tuesday. Drinks took forever to come out, we thought our server was the bartender too and food took a while to.
My drinks were just ok, nothing to brag about and the food was good though.
Overall they accommodated our large party but I won’t be back.

Food was served fresh & fast! Everything was delicious! Our server checked in often, but not too much as to throw off the conversation we were having. Everything was clean & neat! I hope to go back at a more convenient time for me to try out that blue raspberry margarita

I tried the Pollo Encremado. It was the first time I had ordered this dish. It was served quickly. The chicken was tender with the spinach mixed in. The cream sauce was delicious. The dish also included beans and tasty rice. The margarita was tasty and cold. The food is worth going back for and trying a new dish.

What a nice surprise El Mezcal was!
I was a bit nervous based on some of the reviews but I can say I didn’t experience any real negatives.
The pros; service was friendly and prompt, the choriqueso was some of the best if not the best I’ve had. The carne Carley was succulent, tender, and well seasoned. The mixed fajitas were also great. Plentiful meats and veggies, but I think the carne Carley was better. The house margarita special was also nice!
Cons; none really. I wasn’t the hugest fan of the salsa, I prefer thicker with loads of tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños but that’s subjective.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. If in the area and you can’t think what to eat or are in a Mexican mood. I really don’t think you can find better. I will definitely go back!

We love El Mezcal, but we also loved El Torito before. Such a family friendly environment. My kids have multiple options they love and my vegetarian wife loves that they will customize some of their dishes. Parking can be a booger, but it is totally worth it. Don’t sleep on the happy hour.
