Do yourself a huge favor and go to Sylvester look for the large orange building and enjoy. This was the first time we have tried El Metate and let me tell you that this is well worth a 30, 60, to a 90 minute drive. Their restaurant is clean, service is very fast and super friendly, the food presentation was awesome and so delicious. The salsa was not spicy, the cheese dip was just right and the guacamole was wonderful. I highly recommend that you have your next date, business lunch or family dinner here, you will enjoy this and your guest will thank you for the great choice.

As a Texan, I’m used to good mexican food. This was a bit under par. The yellow rice was a day or so old, and the asada in my tacos were very chewy, probably day or so old. The only fresh part was the cilantro and onions on top of my tacos. The beans were ok. Being in the middle of Ga, I’m sure this is a delicious option for yhe locals when fresh.. I just wish I caught them on the day they cooked the meat and rice that specific day. My gf got the chicken nachos, and they were pretty good.

I arrived and was seated very quickly. The waitress was named Grey. Ordered from the luncheon side, a number 9 Enchilada, Quesadilla, Taco The seasoning was nicely done. But, it’s not Mexico City.
All individual items were salty to me. I inquired about adding lettuce and raw onions next time(too cut salty taste). With additional cost, it’s not a problem. Grey did a nice job.

Upon arriving, they pointed out a table. Went to the bathroom and was seated in a different seat. No problem. Chips & Salsa on table. Medium flavor requested mild.
Brought water (lemon in it) and mild salsa.
I reviewed the menu showing many delicious food descriptions. The lunch menu has 20 items with a price range between $5.25 to $7.75.
I went with the Enchiladas Rancheras – two (2) chicken, two (2) beef enchilada, with ranchero sauce, cheese dip, and cilantro. It was plated well, and I prefer more cilantro.
The plate was very tasty. However, the ranchero sauce & cheese dip was used more for looks, in my opinion.
I would eat here again.

This restaurant in one of the best Mexican diner in Sylvester, Ga. Ulysses (The waiter) and Antonio (The owner) are both very funny and know how to treat their customers with respect. They always check up on you to make sure you are satisfied with your visit. My mom and I always go here when we go out and eat in town. We always leave a $6 dollar tip because they are amazing. Also, this place is very well maintained with cleaning.
