El Metate Mexican Food on 6140 E. Main St. in Mesa AZ. I didn’t know this place existed. I pulled in and ordered from the drive-through. I was pleasantly surprised that the wait time was short from the time I placed the order to paying and picking up my food. There were 2 cars in front of me. I ordered the 3 rolled beef tacos with cheese and guacamole. The tacos were deep fried to perfection! But wait…the best part was the shredded cheese & guacamole piled high on each taco. This serving size with no other side items made a perfect meal to go. I’d like to suggest that the windows/wall on the side where the speaker to order is located have the same signs showing the great specials posted on the side of the building where we pay & pick up our food. Well, I’ll be back to try other items on the menu. I may go inside next visit when I have more time. By the way, the woman at the drive up window was kind and had a great smile. Gracias señora.

Wow. The best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had! They are large and stuffed full! Just went through the drive through to get it, and service was fast! Their red and green sauces both rock! Most definitely will be back to try more menu items!

If could rate 0 stars, definitely would. Service was off. Charged for wrong item and tried to blame him… food looked disgusting and tasted just as bad. Ground beef was burnt and sat in a hot pan all day then served up. The chicken had a green color. Wasn’t even about to touch that. Go at your own risk. 16 bucks for nasty. Rice was dry. Refried beans were the only thing that tasted semi ok.

I’ve been coming here for two years for their menudo & it’s one of the best here in Phoenix. The beautiful thing about it is that there is no wait time for Menudo. I guess that’s why I’m just now putting a post about this restaurant. I was being selfish & wanted this place for myself but this establishment needs to flourish. This competes or beats the other well regarded mexican restaurants here in Phoenix. I’ve been coming here once every weekend for the past 2 years after work.
