Food was so good! Best Mexican food in Ann arbor, the owner even gave us a complimentary beef tostada while we waited for our takeaway. Portions were generous, prices were affordable and everything tasted great- will definitely be back!

There are lots of Latin American restaurants in Ann Arbor. None compare to this spot. It’s been around and gone through renovations over the years, but still has the best quality food in southeast Michigan that I’ve ever had. Staff is incredibly kind, and remembered us only after one trip. This is THEE spot to come to, and I’m shocked it doesn’t get the level of traffic it should.

How the mighty have fallen… Used to be our absolute favorite taco place in town, but over the past year or so quality has become inconsistent and often poor. We kept going back hoping things get better but they haven’t.
Guacamole is extremely hit or miss, rice and beans are good sometimes but other times dry / under seasoned. Salsas sometimes taste weirdly “off” to the point where I won’t eat them. Enchiladas and tacos are still pretty okay by themselves, but overall everything is just bad to okay, not great. Especially with so may other taco places around, I can’t recommend this spot anymore.

Yesssss!!! We moved from Chicago a year ago and are always looking for true Mexican, the carnitas are great! The tamales were good, but a little on the soft side, tasted great though… Id definely recommend and we’ll be back!!

Had really, REALLY good al pastor here via street tacos, all of them were good, favorite was al pastor. They were generous and filling, and I didn’t have to wait long. Service was excellent, met the new owner who was enthusiastic & welcoming, shared helpful recommendations, as well as noting that have added daily specials and upcoming -soon menu additions. I will be putting El Mestizo in my regular rotation!
