So good! A must try in south Phoenix! We ordered the #1 with a side of rice and beans to share.
The #1 came with a taco, Tostada, burrito, and enchilada. Everything tasted amazing and like homemade.
The tortillas, sauces, horchata, perfect.

I tried El Mesquite for the first time this weekend. I had the Pozole & my wife had the Chili Rellenos. The Pozole and the Chili Rellenos had home made flavor, but the service was kinda slow. I will be coming back soon. Thank You

The most authentic Mexican food I found in Phoenix. This place has been around for 20+ years. I’d highly reccomend trying it. Our server was amazing she was bilingual and everything we ordered was perfect.

If you’re looking to have a quick meal, this isn’t the place…but that’s a good thing. They take their time with service and preparation of the food. A good thing. Too many places want you in and out quickly. Not this place. It felt as if a meal was to be savored and time with the people you were with mattered most. This is how dining should be. Excellent food. Good prices. Wonderful people. I’ll definitely be a regular.

Second time here, drove over 20 miles to eat menudo and chilaquiles. Menudo was just ok and the chilaquiles were horrible but the beans were good so I got some to go. The service from the two waitresses that I had was terrible. One never checked back after receiving my order. the second one who took my order to go was so rude and with a terrible attitude it really made me feel uncomfortable . The least someone should expect from service at any establishment is basic respect!

All I got was a white menudo & it was pretty good but I did ask for red .. I did plan on coming back but i got charged 23$ make sure you check your accounts or pay with cash cause I will be calling the Wednesday when they open
EDIT: Alejandra was rude as hell & they admitted she does add her own tips I will not be coming here again she needs to be fired they also said we need to check our own food before we leave since it’s not there job it’s my job since it’s my food they did give my boyfriend 5$ back & beans I never wanted beans especially watery beans .. I was owed 8$

It’s obviously a very neighborhood hang out. The staff were friendly with the regulars, but we’re not very welcoming to others. Although they were polite. Food was mediocre. Very homestyle.
I believe a little bit over priced because they have charge me for everything

Beans and rice is taken for granted in most establishments, so it can be easily over looked. This place though made sure that the taste of beans are out of this world! Don’t sleep on this place, a hidden gem for Mexican food

The pictures should speak for themselves. Not the type of Mexican enchiladas I grew up with. Very flat, I definitely don’t recommend the enchiladas dish. The beans and rice were equally as flavorless. The salsa and chips were pretty decent though
