Amazing atmosphere! This covered, outdoor setting is unique and beautiful, which adds to the experience. The food is top quality. Best steak I’ve had in Mexico (at least in Jalisco). The aquas frescas were some of the best I’ve ever had as well!

Came here with the family later in the day. They were out of a lot of items but that was understandable. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which was ok. It was a total of 4 of us, and came out to 1,500 pesos which equals $70 US dollars. In my opinion, the food wasn’t worth the money and you’re paying for the experience. It’s decorated very nicely, and has a horse track in the back.

We had a table of 10. Many things went wrong with our experience. We drove more than 45 mins to arrive only to have to wait about an hour to be seated with not a full restaurant. We were seated in the back dinning area. The servers did their best to accommodate our order. The food was not tasty with many of the dishes we ordered were tasteless. (Shrimp in Garlic). The Pina Colda was super milky and not the usual taste. Our server took half the orders and submitted that. When they brought out those orders they took the second half. We waited and waited and asked for our food but still we had to wait. Half of the table finished when they finally brought out our food. The bill was expensive for such a bad experience. Many of the dishes that we ordered were inedible for lack of taste. I would not recommend this place if you want good food and service for your value.

The ribeye steak was delicious! So was the queso fundido with chorizo AND mushrooms! There was a wide selection of tequilas, as well as other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The service was great. This is a very large restaurant. Beautiful grounds to explore, areas for large events both indoors and outside, and a whole room filled with playground equipment for children.
I loved the rustic atmosphere. Traditional Mexican music playing in the background, rodeo playing on the televisions, and both a guitar player and a mariachi group who will play requested songs for you tableside for a small fee.

This is a beautiful place, the service was very slow. I ordered Camarones garlic shrimp. It was tasteless. It was tasteless and no flavor. I will say for the price we paid was high for bad service and bad food. I won’t recommend it to anybody. I’m from California and we make better shrimp there. We were a table of 10 and they took half the tables order and there’s came and the second half came much later and half of us were done eating and still the food hadn’t arrived.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had, and I have been to some fine restaurants throughout the world. If I was to be executed on death row, I would request El Meson for my last meal. Food was delicious, with generous portion sizes.

What a great restaurant between Arandas and Capilla de Guadalupe off the main road. Large area with playground for the kids, walking around enjoying the property, the restaurant has plenty of seating and has a wonderful atmosphere. The service is great and the food is even better. Their drinks were superb. Definitely worth the trip and will visit again.
