I recently visited this place for brunch and was impressed by the overall experience. The reservation process was seamless, conveniently handled through WhatsApp.
The cuisine was delightful, with each dish prepared to a high standard of flavor. I particularly recommend their Café Santo Domingo, which perfectly complemented the meal. The staff demonstrated attentiveness throughout each interaction, ensuring that every need was met with professionalism and care.
Although the portions were modest in size, they proved to be satisfying, and I even found myself unable to finish everything. The setting itself is remarkable, the cave inspired design creates a majestic atmosphere. Whether for a family gathering or a romantic date, the ambiance makes this venue a distinguished choice.
I look forward to returning for another brunch and continuing to explore the menu. As for the bill, super affordable.

This was an experience. We had dinner in the cave. There was 16 of us and Wendy did a amazing job keeping up with us. Thanks for serving us the way you did. The food was delicious and great portions. But the best thing was the atmosphere the experience and the ambient of the actual restaurant.

El Meson de la Cava is an amazing restaurant. The place is spectacular, very romantic, and perfect for couples. I visited with a group of friends, and we really enjoyed it.

The food menu looks great, although it has some random dishes that absolutely don’t fit the rest of the concept (arancini???).
We sat down and, for a restaurant labelled as a premium site, I was not expecting the table to be set with a glass and a napkin missing.
My fiancée had a hair on her plate. We asked for the plate to be changed. They took it, removed the hair, and brought back the same plate — I could tell because it had a visible scratch and it was the exact same mark.
We received the wine menu and then waited about 15 minutes before we could even order water. The wine list itself is good, but some entry-level wines are priced higher than objectively better bottles listed cheaper on the same menu.
The food was nice and honestly saved the experience a bit.
I don’t usually leave reviews. I manage a Michelin-star restaurant in London, so I understand that sometimes things happen. But the main reason I’m writing this is what happened at the end.
As we were leaving and deciding whether to take the stairs or the lift, we were speaking Italian. I clearly heard one of the waiters trolling us, imitating Italian sounds (“bla bla bla”).
I’m here spending around 20,000 pesos on a few dishes, they add a 10% service charge for overall awful service, and then they expect additional cash tips on top?
Shame, because the location is amazing.

While the place looks nice and the staff is friendly, the live music was unbearably loud. We had to shout to order, making conversation impossible. The food was average for the price, and having only one shared restroom with a broken lock was disappointing.

This was definitely an experience. Overall the best food we had in DR but during the evening there were multiple birthdays and an engagement so don’t expect any quiet dining.

Me and my bf went here for dinner last night, we showed up at 11:20 and they were gracious enough to still sit us. We ordered as quick as we could, unfortunately we could not do the focaccia as they had turned the oven off. My bf got a steak that was AMAZING cooked perfectly. My truffle linguine was a bit different than the menu described but still full of truffle flavor. The cream was a big heavy tho so keep that in mind. The meat on the pasta was also a bit chewy. They don’t have free water but they do have free bread that comes with a delectable whipped garlic butter. The atmosphere is unmatched, absolutely gorgeous. The staff was so kind even tho we were those annoying customers that came late and then of course had to take some pictures. I also got the strawberry mojito which was super good and the strawberry puree u could tell was fresh. With a salad two entrees the water and a drink the bill came out to $106 USD

The best restaurant I had been to while in DR. IT IS BEAUTIFUL! The food was delicious. The service was friendly and professional. The bathroom was clean and gorgeous. The view from outside was stunning. I wish I had the time to sit at the outdoor bar. Great vibe and I’d recommend it 100%.
