The service and the food did not make for a great night out for dinner. The waitress messed up our order twice and had a difficult time understanding what we were saying. I ordered the fried burrito with shredded beef, instead I got ground beef that looked like dog food and the sauce was horrible tasting. My husband ordered the carne asada burrito which wasnt anything great. Definitely not worth $20 a burrito. Ordered super fries which aren’t any different from any other super fries though I’ve definitely had better. For dessert the sopapillas were rock hard, weren’t worth $7. Horrible experience. Won’t be going be back and definitely not worth the cost.

Service was not good. The lady seemed to not understand what we were asking. The serving sizes were not worth the money we paid. The tostadas de ceviche were very small even though I ordered 2 of them, it looked like the size of 1.
I feel like they overprice their food and the taste is not worth the price. It was alright, not great. Won’t be coming back unfortunately.

I called before coming in to confirm that they do have menudo and is ready for pickup. I was very disappointed! The broth was watery and flavorless, there was very little homony and the tripe was chewy, next time I’ll drive to GJ and hit up Los Jilbertos or Golosas their menudo also has “pata” in it and is delicious. I have had other dishes at El Mescal and they were very good. Not the menudo.

Our first time dining at El Mescal was nothing short of stellar. The atmosphere, the friendly staff, the amazing food. What an experience! Our very picky 5 year old asked “Can we go there again?” So you know it’s that good! Our server, Pablo, made us feel welcome and was attentive during our meal. He made sure we were happy with our food and kept our beverages topped off. The wife loved her Burrito Mescal and I had some of the best shrimp tacos. Aforementioned picky eater tried bacon-wrapped shrimp for the first time and those things disappeared before our very eyes. He inhaled them. Our boys also loved the churros and fried ice cream for dessert. We’ll be back!

The food it’s not bad. The service and attitude of the employees or owner what makes it bad. Why? Because I ordered a Caldo de res and big fat fly landed on the caldo. I told the waiter about it and his answer was “I dont control the flies” and “What do you want me to do as I can’t do anything?” The least he could do bring us another plate and still charge us for it (I did not even have a chance to taste the caldo). But he was rude so I cancelled the caldo and ate the rest of the food we ordered. I did leave tip as I know waiters tend to live on tips.

There’s 2 Mexican places in town and the other one is always busy. I don’t know how these guys stay open. The rice was stale, lettuce was brown on the edges. When the fajitas came out they weren’t even sizzling. It smells like bleach in there it’s just never been a good experience.

Great food and great service! The waiters/waitresses are highly attentive and I highly recommend the Fajitas Colorado and the medium margaritas are literally the size of a small pitcher! Love it!
