The menus were very basic and listed almost no information or ingredients for each menu item so it was mostly a guess at what we were going to get.
I know what some things are but not enough information was presented to make a well informed decision, especially if you have any allergies.
I ordered the pescado Zarandeado & my husband the pulpo Zarandeado.
The drinks menu (we opted for alcohol) was also very limited with information and almost all in Spanish, which is fine, but again, one cannot make a well informed decision if they don’t understand what they’re ordering.
I ordered a ‘shark attack,’ it said it was in the ‘preparada bebida’ category so I figured they were cocktails. But it listed no information on what was inside the cocktail.
My husband ordered what he thought was a margarita, but was presented a tiny shot.
Our waiter put the shot in front of me and the mixed drink in front of my husband which left us feeling confused and irritated.
Upon further inquiry the shot was my husband’s and the tiny fish shaped glass was my mixed drink.
Fine.
The food comes out and looks and smells great! Can’t wait to eat, we are starving! I start picking apart my fish to find tiny bones, and A LOT of them. The taste was otherwise good so I kept eating it without complaints. Eventually I found myself playing with my food more than eating it as there were so many tiny bones.
I was stabbed in the mouth a few times, where I decided to quit eating.
I understand different cultures do different things, and I would have preferred if the menu had listed what time of ‘pescado’ it was. Whether a whole fish fillet or any other information would have been nice. If I was prepared for it to come with bones I wouldn’t have been so upset.
The entire time was confusing and annoying, on top of missing information, or no information at all, this dinner quickly became very unenjoyable.
The drinks were tiny and over priced, and the gratuity was included in the bill.
2/10 would never go back here ever again.
I’m still raving about the incredible fajitas I had at La Marinero restaurant in Providence!
The sizzling skillet arrived at our table, filled to the brim with tender beef, crispy veggies, and warm corn tortillas with side salad and yellow rice. Tons of side sauces to choose from whether you enjoy hot, extra hot or mild with sour cream and guacamole you can’t beat it.
The flavors were absolutely on point, with just the right amount of spice and seasoning. I loved the generous portion size, too we left feeling full and satisfied.
The service was great, with friendly and attentive welcoming staff who made sure our glasses were always full and our plates were never empty.
Overall, I’m so impressed with La Marinero and can’t wait to come back for more of those amazing fajitas! 5/5 stars”
Thank you!
The service from Rafael was wonderful
Should be packed this place is excellent, but people don’t always have good taste when it comes to authentic Mexican seafood.
Five stars ZZ the price point was good. Planning to eat free chips and grape salsa. Try that salsa.
Let me start by saying I have never written a review before (I actually had to ask Maria how to do it… lol)
So…
The food is incredible. The specialty grilled shrimp and grilled octopus was everything. Oh, and we started with a special oyster, which was great because it was sorta topped with a shrimp device (which I had been longing to taste)
But let me add… there is more to dining than eating. There is such a joyful atmosphere here. And so welcoming. Much of that was due to Maria who cheerfully brought us our meal and invited us to consider joining in with the karaoke.
Granted, there’s a party happening in the next room… we may have come on a special night… Still, we each have to arrive with our own joy and gratitude.
The food is perfect… the setting, festive… the staff, caring…
We bring the rest.
Thank you, Maria, and please thank tu Madre
