Best place I’ve ate in Mississippi so far. Well definitely eat there again. Definitely more bang for your buck. Got to pick the 10-20 cause it was only 11 for that chicken fajita meat chimichanga.

We showed up on noon June 6, 2022 which was a Sunday. This place was packed wall to wall with people. We arrived hungry. The business has eight booths seat which seated four, six bar seats, five tables which sat six, and one table that sat 12 people. I think they have a second dining room but we didn’t see inside it. On the wall above the register hung a grade A health inspection. The business was well decorated. It had a mural on the wall above the entrance. The bar looked well stocked. It was nice and clean.
The food was excellent. The only one issue is the bathroom didn’t have paper towels but upon notice from my wife the promptly restocked.
If you are close I would stop.

I went there, hoping for ceviche. And they pulled through big time. It was delicious. I came back 3 times during my week stay, for more ceviche.

Food was ok. I ordered the special plate. Shared it with my niece everything tasted the same like chili powder and salt. The salsa was spicy no other choice unless you want to spend $4 for a small bowl of cheese. The staff seemed nice. Made sure drinks were full.

Okay, I’m a bit generous in giving that 5th star–which I normally only award to exceptional places. And I know outstanding, *authentic* Mexican places. But have no fear, El Mariachi is a good, solid 4-star plus place. They get the extra star because, having once lived in Rolling Fork for a long time, it’s practically a *miracle* that there is such a quality place to dine plopped down right there in the middle of, basically, nowhere. They have an extraordinarily large menu–just like you’d find at the typical good Mexicanish (yeah, this is mostly Americanized Mexican) places in the big city–and I haven’t tried it all. But what I have had was tasty, fresh, well-prepared, and excellent portions. Do yourself a favor–if you’re local, and haven’t tried it, you need to. Now. And if you’re driving down through the desert of appetizing food offerings that is Highway 61 after you leave Vicksburg in the south or Cleveland in the north (I have no idea if there’s anything worth eating in Leland) and have hunger pangs, pull right in here. You’ll be glad you did. El Mariachi definitely deserves to live long and prosper.

Mr and a friend went before and it was awful food. But I decided to give it another try. Worst thing I could do. The food and service is so bad they really need to close the doors before they make someone very ill.
