Good local restaurant based on the Wednesday night crowd. No frills.

There is not that typical corn tortillas and chili smell in the restaurant. This along with a bland atmosphere makes it a one time experience for me.

The food is inexpensive and the plates are good sized. Opportunities to build a sampler plate to try more menu items. Only flaw was the plates did not automatically come served with rice and beans. An old restaurant owner in Texas said if they can’t do enchiladas beans and rice forget them.

We order ala cart and build your own combo plate. One item tamale was spelled tamale, singular tamale. Here in the states we usually see tamale. I decided to have some fun with our waitress but she decided to argue with me and that was the last time we saw her. Food runners delivered our food, forgot one side, and we were left with very bland greasy food. The seasoned beef was good but did not resemble anything in the Mexican food genres.

If I could give zero stars I would. I ate at this place when they first opened and the food was very poor. The chicken taste like it’s out of a can, clearly boiled . O type of seasoning. I wouldn’t call this “authentic Mexican “ what an insult. Decided to give this place another shot years later and my experience was even worse this go around. I was highly disappointed again. The food is so bland. And the chicken did not change! Still nasty and bland. My taco was runny as well as my quesadilla. I asked the waiter if she could take it back she proceeded to ask if I wanted a box. As if I’m still going to pay for it. Her manager came and questioned why I didn’t want the food. I told him it was bland taste like it’s not seasoned. He didn’t care. If my boyfriend didn’t offer to pay for the food. He was going to get me for “dine and dash” will never be eating here again. First time the food was poor. Second time food and service was poor. We did not tip!

4.5 stars. Really good food and nice people working. Service could improve.

Water had to be requested I think it should come when chips are brought.

And maybe offer app plates and extra napkins when apps are ordered.

Its just those little things to make 5 stars.

My family really enjoyed all the food at El Mariachi! The staff was very attentive and we never had to ask for refills. I really enjoyed the arroz con pollo and the cheese dip. We will definitely be back.

Lately, dining out at local spots feels more like a gamble than a treat. The charm of supporting small businesses quickly fades when you’re charged gourmet prices for bite-sized portions. A $17 salad with three cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of greens? Or a “shareable” appetizer that barely feeds one?
We all understand rising costs, but value matters. When the price tag doesn’t match what’s on the plate, it leaves diners feeling shortchanged instead of satisfied. If local restaurants want loyal customers, it’s time to balance quality, price, and portion—because good food shouldn’t leave you hungry and broke. BTW the salsa pictured was complementary , However the cheese dip was not and the size for the amount of money is again just not feasible.

We decided to try El Mariachi in Zion Crossroads for a change. There was a good crowd for lunch. The lunch menu was very reasonably priced. We had the chicken burrito and taco combo, along with a chicken enchilada plate. Both were very good. Some people might say the taste was a little bland, but I thought it was flavorful enough without being excessively greasy. The server was busy but still did a solid job. Considering the high prices at other fast food places, El Mariachi is very reasonable.

In town for work and got a referral from our client. Drinks were excellent. Ordered Tacos Al Pastor. They were very good, flavorful and reminiscent of old Mexico. Highlight of the evening was our waitress, Sky. She was hospitable and very attentive to our needs. Sky was awesome.

The food is always incredible, the staff is friendly and professional, it’s always a treat to dine there. They really go above and beyond for excellent service. Their food is high quality and delicious. I’ve ordered a few times especially when I’m sad and I need cheese dip to cure me. And cure me it does!

Try the Mexican hot dogs. And interesting twist on the hot dog. The service is fast and efficient without feeling rushed.
If you are traveling along I-64 near route 15, it is a worthwhile stop.

A great local Mexican restaurant! They have great margaritas and appetizers! Their queso dip with chorizo and jalapeños was absolutely delicious!

Their meals were also good. The only
reason I left 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the rice. It didn’t taste good and had to mix with my beans in order to eat it.
