Yesterday, late afternoon, I had a hankering for Mexican food. So I ordered out from El Mariachi restaurant in Wadena. Now keep in mind that I really don’t have the luxury of eating out, being I try to survive on Social Security, only. What the heck, right? Treat myself, I thought,bso I did , only to be so let down, I nearly cried. Especially since I was sooo excited to order Chili Rellenos and a cheese enchilada. My two favorite Mexican dishes. I threw them both in the garbage. The chili was no fire roasted and was loaded with water, not to mention the Verdes sauce, watery, blended to a clear liquid, so it seemed. The absolute worst meal I have ever had. The quesadilla tasted like a dirty grill and greasy.
I’m not one to critique or post like this, but I know good food and good Mexican food, one of my favorite foods. Shall I call the Manager, hmmm?

The employees are great, fast and efficient, but friendly. The place is very clean. Bummer for my preference, the bathroom is so dark! Add a light! I can get over it, but my kids do not love going into a stall alone in the dark. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoy this establishment.

First time coming with the family and we had a good time. They have authentic Mexican food and desserts. Costumer serves was good as well. Only thing is that on some of the meal portions are small amount. Would be nice if they can add a little more other than that it was great!

I did not have high expectations for a Mexican restaurant in a small Minnesota row.
This place, as it turns out is nothing short of PHENOMENAL! Beautifully painted furniture, friendly staff, and amazing food. I picked something from the menu at random and it was the best meal I have had this summer. If you can, try the Molcajete Michoacano. It was my pick, and the way the juice soaked into everything and mingled the flavours…perfection.

Wow. I visited this restaurant in September, 2023. The food, atmosphere, and service were highly enjoyable. Chips and salsa arrived immediately. I ordered the 4 enchiladas dish. The plate arrived fast. The food was hot. It looked great. And tasted better. The price was reasonable, and I considered what I received as a terrific value. Not only would I eagerly return, but I would drive out of my way to eat here. I am a visitor and do not live in the area. Kudos to the staff, cooks, and owner.
