During my visit to San Miguel de Allende, I was looking for an authentic spot to enjoy a relaxed meal, and this place was a standout.
I tried a variety of their dishes, including the tacos and fresh guacamole, paired with some local drinks. The food is truly delicious and the flavors are very well balanced; it’s easily one of my favorite culinary stops in the city.
The atmosphere is perfect for hanging out and unwinding; it has a very genuine, local feel that makes you want to stay for a while.

Beautiful restaurant and bar.
Small but there is much more dinning in the back. Actually a nicer section to dine than the bar area. Food was good as well as drinks. Pricing a little high.
The reason I won’t return is that the girl bartender sat on her stool for 5 minutes, wiping her nose with her hands and then got up to make a drink. She needs to be trained not to do that while sitting in front of customers.

Small, dark, resembling a little cantina you can find on any given street corner, this bar is easy to dismiss.
However, it boasts a most impressive menu of seafood dishes. These include aguachile, carpaccio de pulpo, seafood mounted tostadas, tacos, and so on. Best part-its open til midnight although the kitchen does close just before 11. PS if you’re not a seafood lover, don’t fret, there are a few meat based options as well.

El Manantial and la Hija Manantial (down the hill near the Parroquia) are excellent places for ceviches and other authentic Mexican specialties – we’ve been loyal fans for over 10 years. Typically the service at both spots is good, even when the restaurant is packed and hopping. Not so today, as we seem to have been blessed with a surly server. She was doing her best to ignore us, and eye contact was a problem – and the restaurant was not busy. And this after our patience was tested with a 15 minute delay in opening.
We’ll go again as we’re not letting this one bad experience out of over 20 turn us off….but maybe the surly server should reconsider her career choice.

Was here last year. The atmosphere is fun, the drinks were good. Food was OK until I ordered the flan for dessert. Shared a couple of bites with another person in our group. We were both violently ill all night long. I’ll be back for drinks and atmosphere. Won’t ever eat here again, though. Noticed on more recent menus that the flan is no longer offered. Good idea!

Loved this place! It was super close to our Airbnb so we ended up there quite a few times – sometimes for drinks, sometimes for meals!
Consistently good service and the vibe is just wonderful.
The only downside I felt was that it was a little dark and does not have any outdoor seating and if it did, it would have been perfect.

Maybe it’s because I’m from LA, so my food standards are very high? But this place is very overrated. We went in for a good meal but were met with very bland food that really missed the mark, especially their tostadas and ceviche. While the ambiance was cool and the layout fun, the service left much to be desired.
There are plenty of other worthwhile places to hit up in the area.

Really enjoyed our afternoon visit in late June. Delicious wine cerveza frió y many cocktails. This is an old 1920 established bar with a hidden patio. Some very delicious bar food. We baja fish tacos and relleno tacos wow! Other items looked good we saw served. This is a definite yes to visit. Recommend!

Not really a bar, but a restaurant with a bar area that prioritizes seating for diners at the bar over those in for only a couple drinks. Came in at about 6:30pm for a couple rounds of drinks with a group of 3. We snagged the last 3 seats at the bar and ordered our first round. When requesting the 2nd round we were asked if we were dining, we said no, and were asked to close out our tab and leave. Awkward. The ambiance is great for a bar, which it really isn’t.

A bartender recommended this place for a delicious drink and something local. However, upon arriving, we sat in 2 corner chairs and were told we had to order food, could not only get drinks. We walked right out.
