Delicious, ample servings. Menu has an impressive selection of Mexican dishes. Friendly and attentive service. Manger greeted us in person and make sure we were content (we were). Prices were very fair. Cozy interior with a rustic flair. Easy access of the freeway with ample parking. We were traveling through and will gladly stop here again for the great food, hospitality and atmosphere.

Truck in shop & was looking for spot to walk for dinner. Love Mexican food and, this did not disappoint! Service was phenomenal, almost too good as felt a little rushed to order but I was okay with it or would have contemplated all night.

Speedy service, large portions and FULL of flavor. Their salsa is just a right amount of heat and again, just great flavor. As a truck driver, I’ll likely never get here again, so hope anyone who reads this, gives it a chance, you will not regret. (I was okay with the prices, I ordered on high end but most is under $20 and trust me, more than enough food)

At first it was little concerned as it took awhile before they took my drink order, after that it seemed that they were tripping over each other to make the service top notch.

A started off with Santagria- had to have 2!

The chips and salsa (home made) introduced one to a great Mexican setting.

With the waiters recommendation, I chose the Choripollo Street Tacos, I was not disappointed. A big hunk of Avacado with fresh lime on the side.

I decorated it with the table Ey Yucateco sauces and then the waiter brought out a hone made hit sauce – a game changer!

I asked the manager for a dessert recommendation, the flan.

You could smell the essence of chocolate and a delightful finish to a wonderful meal.

Excellent place! The place is set up really nice, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The only thing that was a little janky was the fork. It was a lil thin but the food was bomb cant take no points for a fork. I had the Tio combo, it had a chimi, burrito, and enchilada, it was the bomb. The food was HOT, the veggies were fresh, and the beans were great. I look forward to coming back to this great establishment! I’ll cross the street from the hotel everytime. You try it, you’ll come back.

Was in town for the Tri 5 nationals and was staying at the hotel next store. Our group decided to walk over and give it a try as we all love Mexican food. It was a very good choice as the service was excellent and the food was great! The proportions were over the top, we all left full and then some. I cant wait to go back when in town for the GS nations and again for the Ttri 5’s. Highly recommend!

Where to begin with this review… Okay, so first of all, I called and placed my order. I specifically stated that I wanted a chefs special with additional items. I went and then picked up my order, unfortunately before I left, I didn’t check to see if the order was actually correct because I entrusted the staff and the manager who had taken my order personally over the phone to make sure it was right beforehand. After I realized this, I then called back and the manager proceeded to tell me that, “he didn’t hear me say, chefs special” (it is the only meal I order for myself here.. and mind you I had just got off work, and had not ate all day. So this was very upsetting at the time) then the manager, Ramero told me he would remake my order, So I call the establishment back today hoping to get the meal replaced that I had already paid for, and was hung up on.. then had to call back again and was told he will not remake the order.. I got scammed out of 44.00 dollars and never got to eat. Absolutely unacceptable, I would really like to speak to the owner or get a refund. And to top it all off I even tipped for a meal I never even got compensated for shameful.

The only mexican we go to anymore. Their food is seasoned so well. Superb hospitality. The atmosphere is private but also open in a way you can have a good conversation. Tried going to a competitor a few weeks back and it tasted so bland compared to El Maguey.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, customer service, and creative dishes. I ordered the Maguey Burrito which is a 12” burrito filled with rice, beans, guacamole , sour cream, pico de gallo, with ground beef or shredded chicken. I did the grilled chicken upgrade for $2 topped with cilantro, queso, red and green sauce. I look forward to trying other dishes but I’m still on a quest to find sopes in Kentucky. So far, this is strike 2 for sopes.

My fiance and I were out in Bowling Green, Kentucky on a roadtrip on May 16, 2023. After begging him to go to this restaurant all day from finding it on a ‘restaurants near me’ search I had done, he finally gave in and we went. On google it had a 4.2 star review so I trusted this would be a good place to have dinner.

We were seated very quickly and our waiter’s name was Lucas who came and got our drink orders very quickly. For my drink, I had a margarita, and my fiance had a diet coke that arrived in almost a pitcher sort of glass which I was very impressed by because my fiance drinks a lot of diet. The chips and salsa were absolutely delicious! I observed how the silverware had a short little tie of yarn around it which I liked a lot because it made me feel their silverware was very clean. I ordered a Lone Star burrito with steak and no black beans. When it came out, there was verde salsa and cilantro on it. I absolutely LOVED it!

In terms of price to quality of food, I feel it’s right on because the food is just really great! The service was very fast and our waiter was very polite. All in all, I have told my fiance multiple times now, if we ever find ourselves in Bowling Green again, this is where we will be eating!

El Maguey has its own personality that stands apart from the other Mexican restaurants in town. The place looked great with all of the wood decor and furniture and was clean. Staff was helpful. Food was super hot and quick, the chips and salsa had their own distinct flavor as well, and I drank from a carafe! I will be coming back to try the other food choices for sure. Lunch menu available during weekdays.
