There was 14 and everyone enjoyed what they had to eat. The waitress was fantastic she was polite and always a smile. We never asked for a drink she was always there. We were not her only table but we felt like we were. My nephews were with us and said they had been to one in St. Louis and the food there was the best they ever had.

Service is a bit abrupt and inconsistent, though they are indeed friendly. The food is very good and have generous portion sizes. My only complaint is that they use lazy tortillas.

I’m from Houston, so I know good Mexican and Tex-Mex. I ordered the chicken and beef fajitas, and both were chopped extremely fine — almost like baby food. Fajita meat should be sliced, tender, and grilled, not minced. The texture completely threw me off and took away from the flavor. This was not what I expect when ordering fajitas, and I was very disappointed.

One of the original buildings for El Maguey, it doesn’t get much better than this. The service is always top notch and the food comes out pretty quickly. I tend to lean more towards the burritos, but the El Maguey Special is always a solid pick!

My husband & I were out for the day. We wanted to try a new food place. Saw El Maguey with alot of cars in front. The staff were quick, attentive and polite. The house chips and salsa were fresh. We ordered long islands and two separate burritos. The food arrived very fast! We were pleasantly surprised! Out of the two burritos (El Gordo, El Navidad) the El Navidad was our favorite! The only thing keeping this from being a perfect review was the wobbly table! It drove us crazy as we each were cutting and the table would wobble. We will be back with our daughters!

Great food, we got there 15 mins before lunch ended and they were definitely trying to milk the clock, and you could see our waiter talkingwith his boss about it. There was only about 3 other tables there, so business wasn’t the issue. But they honored the deal.

If you’re in a rush for lunch but want to sit down to eat, El Maguey is the place. Great food, served fast! My wife had the El Gordo burrito (chicken and steak) and I had the El Navidad burrito (shrimp, steak, chicken). This is one of the few places with pretty decent table hot sauce. Our order came out within 7 minutes of placing it, we’ll be back.
