Very nasty food. I ordered the chicken grande and it was so dry and gross, I thought I was eating chicken bones. It used to be good, but the last three times we ate here, it’s been sub-par service and low quality food. Big lake needs a new Mexican restaurant

Went there with my family last night. I wish I could give it 0 stars! We sat down no one came to our table for 10-15 min to get us drinks or chips and salsa (not busy) we then ordered our food it came out my husband got the completely wrong meal and they had to re make it. We then started to eat it was some of the worst food I have ever eaten. We ate a few bites and got up to leave as no one had come to even check on us and how the food was. We paid and as we were leaving all felt sick. I would never recommend this place I will never go there again! Service horrible, food atrocious and atmosphere not even close to inviting.

We weren’t sure what to expect when we pulled in to the parking lot. It was not very busy and we were wondering if it was even open. Maybe we were too early for the dinner rush. But this place was great! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The Chicken Fajitas were amazing! The bathrooms were clean and smelled wonderful.

First time here. It was a Friday night, not busy, but it still took a while to get our food. The server even thought we were done eating and was going to bring our check. We had to say we haven’t gotten our food yet. I got the wrong drink and the glass handle was broken on the mug. Server was super nice and helpful when they realized what happened. It looks a bit run down, carpet is missing in parts and the wood is pretty scuffed up in places. TVs or some kind of electronics are missing from the walls so bare wires and brackets are poking out. It could definitely use some love. Once we got the food it was good. Not in a hurry to go back though.

UPDATE: Even after giving a negative review. They were very modest and humble in their reply to my rating. I think it’s worth giving them another shot since they didn’t come up with a thousand excuses.
Dead. The food was meh. The service sucked. The one lady didn’t speak English. So asking for help proved useless. The waiter was on his phone most of the time. Best part of the meal was the homemade hot sauce and the beans. The rest was mediocre.

Wife and I love El Loro. Food is always amazing. Wait times have been going up, but that doesn’t bother me as much as our tab was 36.60, and we paid with the card and tipped 10 cash. When we looked online our charge was 46.60. So, they ended up with a 20$ tip.

Used to dine here all the time when I lived in the area a few years back. Loved coming and always enjoyed the food and the service. Decided to stop in for the first time in awhile and things went bad immediately upon arriving. From what I could tell there were 2 servers and one food runner on staff, and the place had maybe 6 tables of people total throughout our dining experience. Our group consisted of 3 adults and one child. The woman server came to our table immediately and asked if we wanted to put in our drinks. My friend said “ummm” while trying to decide a margarita flavor and the server immediately said “I will come back” and walked away. This interaction was a total of maybe 10 seconds. After about 10 minutes the male server came over and asked if we were ready to order drinks. We put in our drink order, which consisted of 2 waters, a kids soda, and a margarita. The server then started to walk away, and we let him know we were ready to order food as well. He looked around, sighed, and took our order. The server initially brought the wrong margarita, but fixed this quickly. The 3 adult meals came out rather quickly as well, however none of them were even hot. We also had to wait on the kids meal. After about 10 minutes of not receiving the kids meal, and also not seeing the server during this time, the wrong kids meal was brought to the table. (This was after the table behind us asked about their missing kids meal) We mentioned it being wrong and the server told us that this is what we ordered, when it in fact was not. He then ran to the kitchen, returning about 2 minutes later and told us that “the kitchen forgot” and that the correct meal would be out soon. The kids meal finally arrived once the adults were done eating. As the kiddo started to eat the woman server came over and literally threw our tab on the table. My friend picked it up and was going to tell her we needed split tabs, and the woman snatched the receipt right out of her hand! The male server then brought us the tab, but again it was not split. We told him we needed it split and he waved his hand at us and walked away. He came back about 5 minutes later and asked how we needed it split. I started to explain and he began talking over me, asking us who had meals that we never had ordered. As I am explaining he continued to talk over me telling me that I was wrong. He then snatched the receipt out of my hand and continued to tell us the wrong meals for the tabs while raising his voice. He finally got it correct and I had asked if part of the kids meal could be comped since it came out AFTER everyone else was done eating. His response was “no, you ate it.” While the kiddo was STILL eating because the food came out so late. Throughout the dining experience our drinks were not filled one time either. The food runner was very kind and funny though. He appeared to be the only one in a good mood. Very disappointing as I used to LOVE this place, and made a 40 minute drive hoping to enjoy what was once my favorite restaurant.

Went there yesterday and it was an awesome experience. It was during a dinner rush, and there were a lot of people at the time, but it didn’t take too terribly long. Above all, the food was of better quality and price that other Mexican restaurants in the area, the drinks were good and fairly priced, and our server was excellent at his job despite serving tons of other people at the same time. Definitely look forward to coming back.

The service was so slow and bad. It wasn’t very busy, maybe 8-10 other people (3 parties) and we didn’t get our drink order in until 6 minutes in and overall just incredibly slow service. Chips and salsa were amazing tho
