The Lopo has a great vibe. Wednesday trivia night is super fun. It was my first time trying sherry and they were very kind explaining all the different types. The food is appetizer style but the quality is amazing. The chips and dip are my favorite.

Absolutely lovely little spot!!! The staff are fantastic, as is the food/drink and ambiance. Everyone who works here is incredibly laid-back, friendly, and humble. I was especially impressed by how eager the staff were to veganize their food offerings for me; it was like they were excited to be creative in the kitchen, not simply accommodating. And I was similarly impressed by the quality of those vegan food offerings. Truly delicious and robust enough to satiate my hunger. Their sherry cocktails were also fantastic, showcasing highly complex flavor profiles. I also loved the space and atmosphere–lively, but quiet enough to have a conversation. Would not change a thing about this spot!!

So much fun! They specialize in Sherry, but with a whole range of Spanish wines, beers, and ciders.
The bar is based on an alternate history where Spain/Mexico continued to control California and kept up the cuisine traditions.
The food and ambiance is great, and the service is good to boot. Would recommend wholly!

We love El Lopo!!!!! My now-husband and I moved to the bay in April, and on our first outing to San Francisco we were blindly walking around looking for somewhere to eat when we stumbled upon El Lopo. We took a chance and had one of the best dining experience of our lives. Unknown to us at the time, our server was the owner, and we chose to order the “take care of us” along with several sherry flights. Everything was delicious, perfectly portioned, and the vibes were immaculate. So much so that when we eloped on June 6, we came back for dinner that evening (elope, El Lopo, lol)! This time our server was the gentleman who I believe selects the wine/sherry, and our experience somehow topped the first time! At the end of our meal we mentioned to him that we had just eloped earlier that day, and he brought us one of those pitchers that you pour into your mouth (wish I could remember the name, agh!) We hold El Lopo so dear to our hearts, and everyone who’s in the area needs to try them!

4 ⭐️ A Spanish inspired bar. It’s quite cute with a wooden, local feel. Good vibey lighting but not that dark. Not for canoodling but you can build some good vibes here. Would recommend for dates or friends. Owner seems pretty nice. I didn’t love the wines (a lil too acidic / tart) but that may be a me problem.

Okay, I love this place and will be returning for sure. The service is warm and welcoming (thank you, Alicia) and there’s a real cozy, come-in-here-and-relax vibe that immediately endeared me to the place. They have a whole shelf of board games, a great selection of wine (which you can order by the glass, the bottle, or in a unique pitcher with a long spout that is used to pour wine directly into the mouth (though you can choose not to do this). I think the food is a bit pricey and the menu is short and limited to tapas-style small bites, so I wouldn’t necessarily stop by if I was really hungry. The cheese and charcuterie platter was excellent though. We even took leftovers home. Overall a solid experience. I will be back.

Maybe off hours, but was quite for happy hour.
The little food I tried was so super yummy.
My wine was reasonable, the food awesome.

I still have it 5 stars however the food was disappointing, didn’t resemble what was on the menu and expensive for what it was. They have a good selection of craft beer at reasonable prices. Wine and sherry was very expensive (though I’m not a local) $15-25 per glass or $70 plus a bottle is a tad steep. I arrived well after their Wednesday night trivia started which I guess has a cult following. The place was packed and I had a seat at the bar (close to the last one) Big plus we’re the staff who made the night a big positive for me.
I should have taken more pics …

We got two carafes: petnat and orange wine. We sampled another wine as well and the selection is really great. Fun option for wine tasting! Staff was friendly and helpful with recs!
We did not have food there as we had late lunch plans.
