I have to share this restaurant because it is truly a hidden gem!
My husband and I are creatures of habit. We eat the same places and the same meals over and over.
El Local is the place we love to go now because EVERYTHING on the menu is amazing and the service is fantastic. Such friendly people, great drinks and food.
It’s rarely busy and we’re always shocked because of what a great place it is! It’s more traditional Mexican vs tex Mex. We’ve tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed!

My family and I love el local! We have been dining hear for well over a year and writing this review was needed. Staff is always friendly and nice when you walk in and we have never had a negative experience with anyone. On top of that the food is soooo good. Easily my favorite place to go for Mexican food. On our most recent trip we also tried one of their new mocktails there introducing to the menu and I liked in more than the original drink I ordered . 10/10 would reccomend to go for a bite of food with friends or family!!!

Dined in on a Tuesday evening. We were one of about 5 tables and greeted from across the room immediately. I was hoping for a taco Tuesday special but they do it on Thursdays as it said on the menu. I ordered tostadas and my other half ordered an array of street tacos. I also ordered a daiquiri. They brought out chips and three different salsa’s after ordering food, all very flavorful and good. Not your traditional salsa. My drink was good not a traditional daiquiri but it took forever to come to the table and as I mentioned there were only 4 other tables. Good came out quickly and it was very good. Service was just off. Everyone just stood towards the back of the restaurant, no one overly friendly or attentive. I was never asked if I wanted another drink, my boyfriend actually asked me in front of the server if I wanted one as he was taking our plates away. I opted for a margarita, it also took awhile and while it was good it was packed full of ice and their drinks are pretty pricey. Overall, decent experience. Food was really good but I feel like there’s a handful of other places with better service and prices that I would rather frequent in the future.

El Local is an amazing little spot for unique & authentic Mexican flavors!! It is tucked away in the Sunshine Ace Plaza, behind Matt’s Red Hots & it is very easy to miss if you aren’t looking. Do not let the exterior fool you, once you enter there’s a cool vibe with an interesting menu. We enjoy sitting @ the counter with Pedro as our server/bartender. He makes the best spicy margaritas and other fun crafted cocktails…all from fresh ingredients. So far our favorite menu items are: El Trio, Al Pastor Tacos, Canitas Tacos, Birria Tacos, Alambre, & Enfrijoladas. So many fun options & cannot wait to try more!! This spot is perfect for Date Night or GNO. Enjoy!

Wonderful experience. The food was delicious and our server Robert was friendly and knowledgeable. We had the guacamole and chips! delicious ! I had the Asada tacos and wife had the pork carnitas both very tasty. We will be back to try more of the menu. They have a great selection for gluten-free diners as well

NEW FAVORITE MEXICAN SPOT when I come to visit swfl. Bring everyone you know! Food was top notch, authentic, and a great price. Delicious, authentic Mexican food! Everything is fresh and delicious. You can tell everything is made in house. The trio is a must try. The birria tacos are best in town. The only bummer is that the bar wasn’t open on a Saturday afternoon which was one of the main reasons we wanted to try this place (we’ve heard the cocktails are amazing) – guess we’ll have to come back ☺️
