Stopped in for a dinner when I was in the area and I’m glad I did. The service right off the start was awesome. The food was hot and flavorful and the drinks were scrumptious. I would definitely be back when I’m this way again.
My only complaint would be the salsas come in a small plastic cup and makes it a bit hard to dip a chip and it’s a pretty skimpy cup.

El Jinete Mexican Restaurant is one of the best Mexican spots around. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — you can really taste the quality in every bite. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable, perfect for family dinners, date nights, or catching up with friends.
I highly recommend trying their fajitas and margaritas — both are outstanding! Every visit has been consistently great, and you can tell the team truly cares about their customers. El Jinete is definitely a local favorite and a place I’ll keep coming back to!

El Jinete is the best around. We always get friendly service from each server and everyone has worked her since I can remember. Food is always fast, very hot and very consistent! Portions are generous. 10/10 recommend for close dates, family dinners and nights out. We love the street tacos, peach margaritas and salsa!

I was picking up a pizza at Marco’s on Taylor Mill Rd. (never Newport!) when I discovered a Mexican restaurant I hadn’t known existed — El Jinete Mexican Restaurant. And what a treat that turned out to be! It might look like a little hole-in-the-wall from the outside, but inside it’s bright, nicely laid out, and has a great vibe with a good-looking bar.
We sat on the patio with our dog. The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were perfect. What a great find! I highly recommend El Jinete Mexican Restaurant to my friends.

I’ve heard good things about this place but thought they was a little pricey so I never tried. I usually get mine from the one in ft Wright. Tried today very disappointed. Basically I had a shell with bland shredded chicken no seasoning. My enchilada and chicken burrito basically identical. Cheese enchilada was good beans and rice good. But not impressed with the rest at all.

We really enjoyed the experience. The service was a little bit off the waiter didnt wait to hear my drink order but got my husband then just gave me a Coke i dont like coke but i let it go. But it got better before we left. The food on the other hand was great we eat at alot of Mexican restaurants but so far this one has the most amazing food. I got the rice and shrimp and scallops. The scallops were a little over cooked the the shrimp and rice was great. My husband got the carnitas which was full of flavor and tender with a little crisp on the outside. The guacamole was great as well, not overpowered with garlic or onion if your in the taylor mill area and in the mood for Mexican food definitely give them a try.
