The location and interior are absolutely amazing. It is beautifully designed and feels very cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive.
The menu felt a bit overwhelming with too many dishes to choose from. I would prefer a smaller, more focused selection with really great options.
We had the Jimador Rolls ($9.75) and the Cheese Dip ($6) as appetizers. Both were good, but a little pricey for the portion size. For the main course we had La Favorita and Ole Fajitas. The portions were generous and the food was tasty.
We will definitely come back!

Over the summer, just a few months ago, my hubby and I ate dinner here, and ordered completely different things (his contained chicken, mine ground beef). Several hours after we got home, my husband got extremely sick, throwing up and diarrhea, and lots of stomach pain. It lasted a couple of days. I was fine. HOWEVER, thinking that may have been a fluke, I decided last week to order to go for my staff after hours party. Several hours later, I got extremely sick… Same thing as my hubby had a few months ago. Early the next morning, I found out that my ENTIRE STAFF had the very same thing after eating from this Restaurant! It was horrible. Even a week later, one of my staff is still recovering. We have reported to Dept of Agriculture / Health Dept. I should have read all these reviews prior to going back, because had I done that, I would have never returned. But rest assured, that will never happen again!!! This place should be shut down. Oh, and another thing… I had ordered the “Jimador Rolls” appetizer. It said (6) beside the order, but when they brought it out to me, there were only 4 pieces. I told them the menu says 6, but was told by the two people who took my order that it’s only 4… that the menu is wrong. They also said the menu has a lot of things wrong on it. BEWARE!

Let me start by saying that we love el jimador, BUT not the cayce location. We frequent the one on Scarborough drive in Lexington and love the food and family that serve us. We went to cayce location today bc it’s close to my office and our waiter, “DAniel” ruined the whole experience immediately. He had a bad attitude the entire time. I requested a separate Togo order for my coworker and asked for the check to pay it and handed him cash. I after I paid I realized the total was higher than it was supposed to be so I started looking at the check and realized he charged me a non cash fee so I go up front and ask the manager about the fee and he says it for credit card payments and I tell him I didn’t pay with card and I paid with cash and then he switches and tells me something different and treats me like I’m stupid when in fact I was right so he calls the waiter with the bad attitude out to refund my money and he didn’t even give me back what he was supposed to lol. I was just over it at this point and took what he gave me and left and I can guarantee we won’t be going back. Francisco really needs to check in on his investments more often to make sure the customers aren’t being robbed and the wait staff and welcoming and friendly so not to run off business. I will never patronize a business that treats me badly and steals from me. CHECK YOUR TICKETS BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!

The manager was the issue… I ordered my son a mango smoothie and was given some sort of virgin margarita with tajin and salt on it, which he did not drink, and the manager refused to remove it from the bill. I sat at the bar to order take out and my order was taken after a decent little wait and the next time I saw anyone was when my food and the bill came out. When I got home one of my soups had a hole in the bottom of the cup. I will not eat here again. The server was not the issue she was kind and apologetic, though she could have been more attentive.

I have eaten here several times and their food is awesome every time. Very tasty and a quality amount. I can never finish it in one sitting. Staff is friendly and efficient without hovering. The dining room is too crowded however. Tables are too close to one another with very little aisle room. I feel like everyone around me can hear my conversation. It’s a small space I get it, but they could use a few less tables, further apart.

My favorite is the Texana Quaesadilla because it has steak, chicken, shrimp AND comes with guacamole salad and rice.
The last time I was here I got to witness a proposal with a full Mariachi band in the restaurant! Check the vids

Food here is great. But what happen to taking the family to Mexican food and only spending $30 to $40 on a family of 4? Our bill was over $100. Food is good but its pricey.

The food at El Jimador was so good! The nachos were loaded and full of flavor, and the tamale was absolutely delicious. Great service and a nice atmosphere too. I’ll definitely be back!

This is gonna be a full food review of this place. From chips, drinks, and food. I will be giving my full honest review of this food.
Let’s start with the chips, the staple of a good Mexican restaurant. I give the chips a 4/10. No salt on the chips and they are on the thicker side. Once you add your own salt it goes up to a 6/10.
The salsa. It was a hit for me. I love some cilantro in my salsa. Gives it that fresh taste that I love. I give it a 7.5/10. The bowls for the salsa are a bit small. I love big cups of this stuff. I could’ve drank it.
Drinks.
The waters were fresh and clean tasting which is always nice. The margaritas we had were the skinny margs. Very refreshing drink. Can tell they took their time to make it. Not too strong though so if you’re hoping to get lit, I’d request an extra shot. Margs 7/10
The food.
Carnitas with tortillas on the side was awesome. The pork was a little under seasoned in my opinion but the onions had all of the flavor for me. The beans were perfect and the tortillas were warmed for us as well.

The bathroom.
It was clean and it was a single bathroom with a diaper changing station. 6.5/10
