I got a chance to give this spot for lunch! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted! The spot is right by Rutgers! I ordered:

I must express my deep disappointment when a restaurant offers delicious food, but the customer service is so appalling that I would never consider returning to spend money there. The staff consistently displays nasty attitudes, and most of them don’t speak English. They all seem annoyed by being there to serve customers or act as if they’re doing you a favor by preparing your food, as if this isn’t their job that you’re paying for.
Having worked in service my entire life, not necessarily in food service, but in the service of others, I understand the importance of providing excellent customer service. A successful business requires a certain level of customer service, and this establishment fails miserably. I’ve given this place at least 10 or more chances, and the service has been consistently awful, except for my first visit.
Despite the delicious food, I can’t support a business that doesn’t take the time to train its employees to be friendly and welcoming to its clientele. I’ve always been in service of others, so I try to be understanding that someone might be having a bad day. I’ve tried going there at different times of the day and different days of the week, but the service has never wavered to be absolutely awful. There’s no excuse for consistent poor customer service.
As a paying customer, I’m also more aware and extra friendly when I enter a place of business because I know what it means to deal with difficult customers. I believe in the saying “Service is King,” and if the staff here could get that right, I’m sure the business would make a lot more money. I’m sure the area provides a large client base that will continue to come regardless of how nasty and unfriendly the staff is, but service should matter to whoever owns this business, and it clearly doesn’t, as evidenced by the numerous reviews I’ve seen that express my sentiments.

The portions are so small for the price, even chipotle does a better job at giving better proportions. They had new cooked meat sitting in the back but didn’t want to put it out I’m guessing so they can give you an even smaller proportion due to it being minimal left. I had to press and ask what’s that sitting in the back. Waste of time, go to the other authentic taco places in the area. The flavor wasn’t bad though 8/10. Picture is without me eating any. How small it was for around 13$

One of my favorite spots! I appreciate the generous portions, you definitely get a lot for what you pay. I find myself choosing Jefe’s over Chipotle because I get more value here. Food is really delicious and the workers are always friendly too. I was a bit disheartened to read a review complaining that the workers don’t speak English. You’re eating at a Mexican restaurant…why would a slight language barrier be an issue? Thanks for all the hard work from the employees!

Had a late night craving for Mexican food and dropped by to get a quick bite. Even though I was here near the closing time, the staff were pretty accommodating. They were patient in letting me take my time choosing the toppings on my nachos.
The mango salsa was amazing and all the veggies tasted pretty fresh even during the closing time. Only issue I had with is the queso which tasted a bit stale. Other than that, the quesadilla and the protein was pretty good too.
They have ample amount of indoor seating available although the tables are little sticky

To Be completely honest, El jefe is what Chipotle could have been, especially for their bowls. Their bowls are some of the freshest and most authentic Hispanic foods you can find, and their meats are well-seasoned and always taste fresh.
While the atmosphere could use a little improvement and the service could be better, I think the food quality is worth the wait. A couple of minutes to be spoken to and a bit of attitude is worth it.
Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a delicious and well-seasoned Chipotle bowl.

This restaurant came to my job last night and served food. I just had to comment on their guacamole. It was so delicious. I had mx rice with steak, chicken, pinto beans, fresh pico de gallo, and shredded cheese with queso. It was delicious. I had a flan too, which was so good, with a JA (Hibiscus) drink.
