We recommend El Jefe’s Grill for the excellent food and friendly service! I had the Steak Street Tacos and my wife had the Chicken Street Tacos. We shared a side of Rice and Beans.

The tacos are large for street tacos, so four tacos is a good meal! The food is all made fresh daily an we could tell. The flavors of the pico and crema are fantastic! The beef was grilled to perfection and had the taste of authentic Mexican beef! The beans and rice were a nice addition (we will get chips next time)

The restaurant was understaffed when we visited but the wait was made pleasant by the friendliness of the staff (even the cook served meals with an great attitude)

The place is very clean, austere, and I found the seating to be uncomfortable! It’s quiet inside so it’s a nice place to visit with others during the meal

Their steak and chicken cooked with tallow is melt-in-your-mouth tender and so flavorful. We’ve tried their bowls, Mexican sandwich, burritos, salads, and plates and none have disappointed. Their salsas and sauces are top notch and full of amazing flavor. Oh, and don’t forgot to try the churro fries! Don’t let the prices dissuade you, every single dish we’ve tried has easily been shareable. (Picture is the 1lb steak plate which was shared with 4 people)

Had an amazing night out at this new spot we found El Jefe’s Grill Mexican BBQ… Food was crazy good, think elevated Mexican street food.. super high quality ingredients, we ordered a steak burrito, steak tacos and fish tacos. 10 out of 10. Not only did the owner Sam come over and converse, he comped a beer just because… and gave us secret menu items that aren’t even available yet, he let us try some shredded beef that was amazing, and some chorizo tortilla soup that was out of this world. You can’t keep me away from this place I will definitely be back! Thanks Sam!

The steak tacos are amazing! Melt in your mouth, bite-sized morsels… perfectly grilled. So juicy and flavorful! The CarneViche was fresh and delightful! We finished off our meal with churro fries. A yummy crispy treat, but not too sweet! We truly did not want this meal to end! Highly recommend!

Super turned off by our attempted visit tonight, sadly because the first time it was good. I guess businesses think they don’t have to keep up the good service after being opened a while? No hello or greeting. The older lady working the front was snotty and had her nose down working on something. Finally said I’ll be right with you and continued her conversation with the guy counting money behind her. If something starts off bad, I don’t feel the need to give them my money, so after being ignored and greeted rudely we left. They still had an hour left open so not sure what the rush was to do closing tasks that should be done after you are done serving your customers. I’ll gladly take my money elsewhere and I did.

New Mexican spot in town with healthy options. We had to try, of course. From walking in it’s a little confusing whether you order at the counter or sit down at a table, but I guess you can do either. If you are wanting to order to go you order at the counter or you can sit. We got the chips and queso and the queso is pretty good. The chips were pretty basic. We tried two different kinds of the salsa and they were both yummy. Got the serrano peppers which I highly caution against because they were super spicy and I was literally crying from the spice. Try them if you live spice. They have a lot of beverage choices including non-alcoholic beverages. We tried the elote which was awesome. My husband got a burrito with potatoes and guacamole added and it was very awesome and tasty. I got the chicken tacos and they were very tasty. The staff was all very friendly. They let us know that they use a healthy kind of oil for cooking which is tallow oil I believe. I feel you could choose healthy options here such as the bowl or the tacos and skip the chips if you want to eat healthy. We definitely will be back again and I highly recommend to try.

This place is incredible. I had to try the hot dog. It just looked super interesting. Did not disappoint! I’m not even a hot dog guy, but these are addicting. My daughter got the combo plate. The steak is great, but that chicken is on point! So tender with the perfect amount of smokiness. Also…try the churro fries. They’ll make your wife’s frown turn upside down.

It has been a LONG time since I have been “wowed” by Mexican food. The quality and freshness at El Jefes was amazing! We got the street tacos and the steak sandwich. The food stood on its own but then the atmosphere and customer service made it even better! My husband and I have definitely found our new spot! A must try indeed!

I was driving through the area and I wanted steak, so I searched for steak and found this place which seemed to be a little off the beaten path for me, but so worth it. The steak was perfectly cooked over Mesquite charcoal and perfectly seasoned. they drizzle a bit of tallow over the meat on the grill and it is on point. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Hands for scale. The food was amazing, and very nice portion sizes! Atmosphere was good. Establishment was clean. Service was quick. Business stays open late which is a plus for tourists in the area. Bathroom was very clean, had breath mints and tampons inside! Pricier than fast food, but it is well worth the price for GREAT food. Would highly recommend for some good food, will be stopping by whenever in area!

We ordered food off of DoorDash. This is what they charge $23.00 for. 3-4 tiny pieces of steak per taco. They are out of their minds if they think their food is that good that they can serve these pathetic tacos for what they charge. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else.
