I have dined in & I have ordered twice online for pickup, and ALL 3 times my order was correct. I am very particular about my tacos; side note – I am from Chicago & nobody in Chicago puts cheese sauce on their tacos or anything else. The very fact that each time I ordered from EL Jefe, I did not have to take it back, I did not have to ask them to remake my food till they got it right, proves that the cooks in the back not only actually read the entire order ticket line by line, but they also pay attention to all of the words. I send a special thank you to those cooks for caring & always getting it right.
The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
The service – they are very kind and attentive.
The food is good and is as close to Chicago as I can get. I’ve tried many Mexican restaurants here in Lexington (including food trucks) & have been disappointed until I walked into EL Jefe.

First of all, a great michelada at a decent price. Chips and salsa were pretty normal. The staff here is very friendly and interactive. I also ordered a tamale, the filling was beef, the dough was cooked perfectly and it was covered in a tasty sauce with more meat. I had the Toastaquac as well, a crispy tostada with beef, cheese, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and tomatoes, it was tasty. I will be back and i will bring friends.

I placed an order from here at 8:51pm. Order was accepted. Then at 9:33 pm my order was cancelled and refunded. If you couldn’t make the order why would you accept it? I was waiting over 30 mins for this and now have to order from fast food. Will not be giving this place a second chance. If you know you close at 9:30 you should probably place a cut off for delivery orders.

Me and my fiancé come here easily once a week. The service is always fast and the food always comes out hot! I definitely recommend coming on Monday for buy one get one free margaritas. Shown in the pictures below is a raspberry and mango margarita and Quesabirria Tacos.

The place was absolutely beautiful in general, but the service sucks & the food sucks in all absolutely a waste of money, and the service was completely horrible. I got my food cold. My boyfriend didn’t even get his food the way that it should have been we will never be back again.

Service was friendly. We got seated quickly with no waiting. (For Saturday night this was nice) food was Great, lots of options on menu easy to order from. Waitress was helpful and attended to us frequently for refills etc… The staff was helpful and apolite.

The food was amazing, very nice staff, beautiful decor, but did I mention the FOOD IS AMAZING!? We had lunch fajitas and a burrito California, Queso with hamburger and tomatillia hot sauce. I’ve eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants, and this is one of my top 5 of all times.
