Dined in alone on a Wednesday at 1130a. I guess this place is part of, or located inside of, or directly next to the Dusty Farmer motel or something… anyhow went in the front door… was immediately greeted and seated.
The place is beautiful, new, clean and modern inside. I was seated in a booth that looked like it had never been used before, that’s how new it looked.
I ordered a chicken taco salad with no sour cream. I got up to use the rest room and the food beat me to the table, after only like 2 minutes away… man this place is fast.
And they were fairly full and fairly busy. And every tables food appeared to be flying out. Kudos to anyone who has their restaurant systems and processes down to this level of efficiency… they obviously get it.
The food tasted good. The taco salad was made with shredded lettuce which is an odd choice I don’t see often, maybe they were out of salad mix. And the shredded chicken could have been drained a little better before they put it in the taco salad bowl. But no complaints. It tasted great.
The facility is new, clean and modern. The staff were polite and professional. The food tasted great. The service was lightening fast and the price was more than reasonable. I would definitely eat here again. Great small town Mexican restaurant.

We chose to stop here for a late lunch on a Saturday. The extensive menu made it difficult to choose what to order. I had a burrito that was really good and plentiful. There was a kids’ menu that satisfied my 10 year old. The artwork was really beautiful to look at as we waited for our order to arrive. The house chips and salsa were good.

We are locals that enjoy eating Mexican food. We eat in Mexican restaurants frequently when traveling and have never found one with better food than El Jalapeno. The manager/owner is a hard working person and very personable. He has high expectations which become obvious when you taste the food and see the cleanliness of the restaurant. I hope you will give them a try.

This place was better than I had expected for a small town. I really do appreciate their food and the extreme cleanliness of the bldg and servitude of the staff.
Be prepared for a lot of choices. Almost too many. But the food was definitely decent and the next time we’re in town to visit the motorcycle museum we’re definitely going to pop by.
Blessings to all

Okay first of all let me say that I live in Texas and I eat Mexican food at least twice a week. That being said it was okay for Mexican food. Apparently the people in Kansas really like it. But unfortunately hot sauce was not very good and the fajitas were okay but not the way I would like them. It was very clean and they were actually cleaning when we were there. I would recommend this Mexican restaurant to anyone in northwest Kansas.

Absolutely top shelf authentic Mexican food. They must put hours into the prep work to cut up every into little pieces. Definitely makes the top 5 All-Time List… If you’re passing thru, don’t make the mistake of not getting a meal.

This is by far, one if the better Mexican food places I’ve been to in a long time. Food is fresh, they don’t smother EVERYTHING in sauce, and is seasoned well. Definitely recommend this place for the food, and attentive staff. Will be coming back.
