Wow. Wow. Wow So authentic. The mole is so so good and authentic. The plates look very good. The plates are not huge and exaggerating with food, but just right. I rather go for quality than quantity. The place is not big so small groups more convenient. Out part was 10. Prices are reasonable. For sure again.

I am far from an expert on Mexican food, as my only experience with it is being wasted at Taco Bell at 4am. But this place is phenomenal. I had the Chile relleno (one chicken and one cheese), flautas, and a flan. The cheese Chile relleno was by far my favourite thing and the chips and salsa. The flavours are good and spicy and the service is very nice. Will definitely go back and try more of the menu.

I finally got to visit & enjoy my first meal at El Jacalito! First the complimentary chips & house salsa, Outstanding! (If you like spicy!) I had the chilaquiles verdes w/chorizo! Loved it! (As you can see it’s a big plate) You definitely get your money’s worth. The staff were awesome & helpful, very attentive! I highly recommend & will definitely go thru the whole menu eventually!

Excellent Oaxacan place! I recommend if you are in the area looking for some good Mexican that has a little more to offer than the standard California Mexican spots. El Jacalito offers the Mexican food staples, but with the Oaxacan flavor which is slightly different and very delicious. Chilaquiles we’re very good, and the Tlayuda is good for sharing as an appetizer, wouldn’t recommend for single meal.

Such a great experience! The young woman was so nice. I got shredded beef taquitos with black beans, lettuce & guacamole. Also ordered the carne asada quesadilla with guacamole, I asked for sour cream as well. Both dishes were so delicious! Fresh & flavorful! She was kind enough to ask if I wanted more than the 2 salsas she had put in the bag & ended up giving me 4 more, which was perfect because I used them all; the salsa was fresh & had a good kick to it. The prices were perfect for what I ordered; just over $13 for the 2 items + a small bag of chips.

Good food, good value. Interesting menu. Had a Jamaica agua (hyacinth), which was very refreshing. Mole was very tasty. And on top of that, a 30 second walk from my motel. . Had the burrito pictured below the second night I went, very good. It was huge and I wasn’t sure I would eat it all, but it was delicious and not heavy. Sorry, I ate a little before I took my picture.

The food here is always amazing, literally anything on the menu! I usually get the tlayudas, burritos, or nachos!! For an appetizer we get queso fundido, its a melted cheese with a hint of choriso, they give you tortillas to make tacos with it but i eat it with the complementry chips add a bit of salsa, it is a revelation!
