As soon as the lady saw me she instantly knew it was me for my order. (This was my first time going) it honestly felt like I was visiting a family member. The street tacos were amazing and I’d come back here again.

My husband went there and ordered us food to go Friday, February 27, 2026. Needless to say I have been in the restroom all night with an upset stomach. My son got two crunchy tacos. We live less than 10 minutes away. The tacos were wet. There was cheese melted all over them. The shells were completely soggy. We got two Mexican pizzas and I guess they were in such a rush. They put them in Styrofoam and the Styrofoam melted all over them. Needless to say we didn’t eat those. I also got an enchilada meal. It was OK but I think since that’s the only thing I ate that that’s what upset my stomach. Not sure why and my husband got street tacos. Those tasted ok he said but was also in the restroom all night! Very disappointed. Will not be back.

It is a clean restaurant, the paintings on the walls are not very pretty, maybe if they changed the decoration it would look a little better. I didn’t like the taste of the food very much. I arrived with the hope of finding something better but that wasn’t the case. I think it can be improved. Also the attention of the staff is excellent.

I have to say the chips and salsa were on point compared to other Mexican food places in Melbourne, extremely crispy, not oily and the salsa felt like homemade!

I’ve tried about 5 Mexican locations in a 5-10 mile radius from El Indio. This is my spot. Staff talks to you like a long lost visitor. Like Tia remembers you, but you’ve been MIA from coming around. Lol
The food is just as good as the staff. I would like to categorize this restaurant as a “mom and pop” restaurant and worth a visit.

I saved so much money not having to travel to their hometown to eat the food! The salsa is flavorful and has nice heat. The seasoning on the food was just right. Their menu has so many quality authentic meals to choose!

El Indio offers good food that satisfies the craving for authentic flavors. During my visit, I had a mixed experience with the staff. The older lady seemed a bit off, which affected the overall atmosphere slightly. However, the other lady was incredibly friendly and professional, making up for it with her excellent service and welcoming attitude. Despite the minor hiccup, the delicious food and the positive interaction with the friendly staff member made the visit worthwhile. I would recommend giving El Indio a try for its tasty dishes and generally good service.

We purchased through Uber Eats. In special instructions we asked for utensils because my husband is a patient at the Holmes Heart Center. I also asked that if they use styrofoam to please put foil in first as I don’t like my food coming in contact with styrofoam. No utensils, no napkins, and no foil in the container. I also requested a mild verde salsa – boy was it HOT. Disappointing from this perspective. Food was tasty.

I was seated at the last table next to the kitchen and i could listen to the conversations in Spanish from the cooks, but the waitress was did’t speak spanish, although he looked mexican.. i believe she is from The Philippines.
