Awesome find. Atmosphere was great. Menu has lots of interesting items. Chips & salsa were way above average, heavy on the garlic, which I don’t mind. I got the pulled pork nachos. Pork was chopped not pulled and the onion was pretty on top but it would have been more edible if it was diced, barbecue sauce was good but barely there. My wife has carne asada tacos which tasted great but the meat was cut too large. Son has enchilada special – nothing special – but he did like the flan.

Out showing property after church. We split the fajitas and chimichanga. I preferred the fajitas over the chimichangas. They didn’t have my fresh grilled jalapeños that make everything better. Chips and salsa were super! I could drink it. Hubby thought it was a little hot but I thought it was perfect. Nice atmosphere and decorating. Maybe leave more napkins at the table, I go through a few! Lol

Food was good wish they had more vegetarian options but they were kind enough to accommodate us and our food needs. I enjoyed there Baja salsa. Could have a Spicer option. The serving size for the vegetable fajita was small. Chips were good and the guacamole was a little plain. Had a great chat with one of the family members who own the place.

First of all, the menu is very limited, especially for a vegan. When we informed our waitress not to include cheese on our food, she seemed shocked and annoyed. We ordered fajitas, which, for 13.00, should have been plentiful – they were not. Also, rice is not included with the fajitas, but is an extra 2.50 for a small side. The food arrived hot, but had no seasoning, whatsoever. The pico, which I can only assume is fresh, lacked any lemon or lime. All you could taste was the onion. Even the cilantro taste didn’t come through. After our food was served, our server completely disappeared. The chalkboard advertised horchata, but they were out. For a place that has been in business since 1975, you would think the food would taste better. There were many diners in the establishment, which amazes me. The decor is varied and dated, which I don’t mind so much, except the booth they put us in was ragged and uncomfortable. We will not be returning.

A surprise in a little town! Beautiful atmosphere, draft local beer, friendly staff, owners in the restaurant and clean. They serve authentic Mexican food, I actually prefer Tex Mex, but I enjoyed the change of pace. There were limited chicken and vegetables on the menu, however, they did add some straight up America fare.

I’m a native Texan and love Mexican food. This little business in Cabool, Missouri–not far off the Interstate–is well worth the exit.
Around since the early 70s, it serves truly authentic Mexican dishes. Best refried beans, rice (no throw aways with these) and homemade tortillas I’ve ever had!
