A vibrant, modern cantina at the Original Farmers Market serving the best guacamole in LA and our buzz-worthy BIRRIA TACOS. Guests love our fresh, handcrafted cocktails, vegan and gluten-free options, and the unbeatable people-watching from our open-air patio. Bright flavors, bold energy, and classic California cool — this is El Granjero Cantina.

Met up with some friends here before we went shopping and had a great time! There’s a fun chill atmosphere with great music! I had a delicious margarita mocktail and I was pleasantly surprised there was a big selection of zero proof drinks to choose from. It was very easy to make a lot of the dishes vegan. And there are plenty of vegetarian options. I got the cantina bowl with soyrizo and it was delicious! Highly recommend this spot for people watching or a fun group meal!

We took a chance on this place; just wanted to grab something to kill time before going to the movies.
The staff is friendly and helpful with helping me with my choices. The food came quick, and it was so good! Hubby inhaled his and was very satisfied with the portions. We will be going back again.

I had the steak bowl here and it was really good. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and fast service. Solid spot to grab a meal while walking around The Grove.

I had a lovely experience at El Granjero Cantina! The ambiance is absolutely amazing, colorful, lively, and full of great energy. The staff were super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the fish dish, which unfortunately was a bit overcooked, and the green rice, while flavorful, came out slightly oily for my taste. That said, the overall vibe and service more than made up for it. Great place for a fun evening with friends. Would definitely come back to try other dishes!

The moment we walked into the Farmers Market we were drawn in to El Granjero Cantina by the smell! Our server, Brittany, immediately walked up with a friendly smile recommending things on the menu! The strawberry margarita was a perfect way to cool down from the hot LA sun, and was not only beautiful, but delicious! The chips were homemade and thick, and the salsa was amazing! Even with my husband’s onion allergy, he was able to find something! The food came out quickly! The birria quesadilla tacos were delicious according to my husband), and the BYO quesadillas (I did chicken and guacamole)were maybe the best I’ve had!
The atmosphere was lovely, with gorgeous outdoor lighting and bright painted flowers. Being outside but under a cover allowed a perfect breeze to flow through!
Overall, an amazing experience!

I had a good experience at El Granjero Cantina. You definitely are paying for grove experience as this is a little pricey, but the food is good portions, and the service is extremely nice and the wait time isn’t bad. This is a solid restaurant for the grove if you want to grab a bite to eat. Not sure if they have many gluten-free options however.

We had a very disturbing experience. After dining here, my husband and daughter both became sick (vomiting and diarrhea) with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. We went to the hospital as my daughter spent the night there.
In the top of this the food was so pricey and never worth.
I contacted the manager immediately. She assured me she would “take care of it” and follow up. That was the last I heard from her. No call back. No update. No accountability.
NEVER GO THERE

This place is not bad. We ordered tacos, a quesadilla, and a salad. However, our food felt very dry and not as fresh. Again, it’s not bad, but it’s not worth paying over 20-30 bucks for one person’s meal. It’s overpriced, most likely because you’re paying for the Grove’s atmosphere, which is nice. The service is friendly too.
