Charming place located in an old house. Not the best options for a vegetarian who doesn’t love fried food, but all the ingredientswere fresh and well seasoned. I got the lunch arepa with mixed veggies. it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area!

One of the best restaurants in Elkins, West Virginia, and by far the best Venezuelan restaurants I’ve ever been to.
Highly recommend eating here

While on vacation, we stopped to have lunch and we weren’t disappointed in our choice. The food was absolutely delicious at a great price and our server was wonderful. Poor man was the only server so he had his hands full. We didn’t mind the wait because we were in no hurry. Besides, I was enjoying the salsa music. Brought me back to my Puerto Rican roots.

We love this place. It is tucked away in an old house. The food was delicious and plentiful. The local beer was fantastic and it was wonderful to find authentic ethnic food. Our server did a great job and we felt covid safe because the tables were space well.

Great food with good portion sizes. The sides were simple with unique and flavorful main entrees. Spicy actually means spicy, bordering hot.
The cachapa was something you don’t see often, I’d recommend it.
Resturant is inside of an old house tucked in the neighborhood. They have limited seating up front, but do have a bar and additional seating in the back.
Many dietary options to include gluten free, however some dishes might have an upcharge to accommodate.

The Cachapa (pork and beef) were great, the rice and beans were great (mixed) and the service was friendly. We had a little wait but it was lunchtime and worth it. I was hungry and started eating before I remembered to take a picture. Will be back to try other dishes.

The place is lovely and they have live music! Our server, Britney, was kind and friendly. Service was good. Food wasn’t that good… 🙁 We had a chicken soup that was packed with cilantro and too much cumin… unpleasant taste. The arepas and empanadas were great but the pork and meat again packed with cumin… black beans lot MORE cumin… Tostones and salad were good. And finally for dessert my girlfriend burned his tongue… tres leches hot!!! Really? Tres leches supposed to be a cold dessert!!! At least you should specified you served it hot. Is the first time in the history I’ve seen a HOT tres leches.

Very interesting eatery, especially for downtown Elkins. Located in a charming older house with tons of character, the food was very good, I tried the surf & turf cachaca and was very pleased, and the side of plantains was delicious. Would love to be able to try out more of the menu! Service was a bit slow, but they seemed to be a bit understaffed on the Friday night we visited. For those that travel and long to not frequent the corporate restaurant chains – I would highly recommend El Gran Sabor!

Love El Gran! Super great atmosphere & great people that own it. You definitely aren’t ripped off at their bar, they are heavy handed on the alcohol
